Last night was the SA Octoerfest, might try something new tonight. Something not SA, I do enjoy it though.

I enjoy it, usually leave the orange out of it though.
the oktoberfest I had on friday on tap tasted like a bud light with the color of an oktoberfest. i was not happy

What does everyone think about Sam Adams Octoberfest? Worth trying or no good?

Yeah, definitely try it. A lot of people love it. It's the Oktoberfest beer I see most often for random people drinking one.

I can't handle the stuff anymore, but definitely try it.

i enjoy it. goes down pretty smooth, balanced taste, pretty simple and not too heavy. i had a few of them on tap last night, then went to the store and got some Sierra Nevada Tumbler, which i loved.

Went to the Two Brothers Brew Pub last night, had a couple of their beers. Got a little too drunk to remember names, but I know I enjoyed them all!

Good choice. Not nearly as hoppy as the name might imply (imo), but still very enjoyable.

I had this the other day and was not impressed. I didn't think it had much flavor at all.

Stopped by a Binny's in Chicago today to see if they had Pumking or Punkin Ale. I saw they had four bottles of Pumking, so I grabbed them all. Spoke with the manager at the register, he said the Pumking was a one time shipment this fall, so if you see any more at other stores, buy them now.

Those four, plus the one I have saved from last year, means I have five bottles of Pumking in my fridge right now. I am stoked!

Yeah, New Belgium rarely disappoints. But I'm still jealous of this guy:

This year's Sam October is not their best. Each of the past three years it was a really stellar beer.

If anybody is out toward this part of the country, Boulevard's Bob's 47 is phenomenal, and Shiner made an Octoberfest for the first time this year, which is pretty solid as well.

Went to a hopfest over the weekend in Seattle and this is what I tried:

    Alaskan Double Black IPA
    Black Raven Dry Hopped Trickster
    HUB Ace of Spades
Left Hand Twin Sisters Double IPA
Naked City Ace in the Hole
    Port Brewing 4th Anniversary
    Russian River Blind Pig
    Stone Double Dry Hopped Ruination
    Two Beer Fresh Hop
    Souther Tier Unearthy
    Georgetown Lucielle Cask
    Elliott Bay Imperial Von Boorian

It was a lot of fun. Loved the Blind Pig and the Port 4th Anniversary.

A lot of the beer talk in here is East Coast dominated, and you guys are seriously missing out on Boulevard beers from Kansas City. Their Smokestack series is completely amazing.

Something must be up. I spoke with our local beer distributor, he said he only got 86 cases of it this year. In the past, he would get well over 200. Not sure if they had a bad batch or if the change in recipe was caused by something else.

That's odd. I saw that Sam Adam's has a new pumpkin ale they are including in their Harvest 12-pack, so I wonder if that is affecting the Octoberfest at all...
