The almanac says that on 4-13-02 Carter and Butch played the Beatles' Blackbird at soundcheck. Does anyone know if a recording of this exists? I'm really curious about what that sounded like...

if i remember correctly... i think an MP3 spread but then the whole check was hoarded. not 100% sure.

I don't think it was hoarded. I thought the DAT of that particular check sounded awful and was not entirely converted. Only the blackbird was completed and spread. Not every show that isn't readily available is hoarded, some simply don't sound good enough to convert. Take that Olympics scanner tape for example.. I listened to five minutes of it and it sits on my shelf, I am not sure why it was converted it sounds so bad!

and i guess i heard it from to cynical a poster then, you know how people get when they dont get anything. Personaly though, if its a show that no one else can get, id rather have a shit copy than no copy. *shrug*

Sadly I know that this one is not hoarded. The full souncheck is traded.

Just a really rotten moniter mix, ie.. 7-6-99 'iem'. I don't know, I usually just give away stuff that sounds awful, I could care less who else has it, if I am not gonna listen to it it does me no good

The whole soundcheck was bit torrented not too long ago. Its an IEM so it was rather weak.

I have this show. Its a bad iem that has numerous big dropouts. Some of the band speak is pretty cool though.

There is a thread on TDC regarding these types of recordings that you might have better luck with. I checked my files and I have the 4/10 and 4/12 SC but not the 4/13.

Why not just buy or download a live version from 2005? It's available on the Red Rocks Live set from that year.
