Has "Not Your Father's Root Beer" been discussed in here? What do you guys think about it? Tried it for the first time yesterday, was less a beer and more a soda. Tasted exactly like root beer.

it's pretty gimmicky IMO. It does smell like root beer and initially I thought it tasted that way as well. I let the beer warm up for like 10-15 minutes and it all fell apart and was a pretty big mess. I know it's been discussed here, and I am probably in the minority when I say that I don't really care for it. Give me an actual Root Beer.

    ISO that glass...

de Garde's glassware game is pretty tight.

I felt the same way - tasted good at first but by the bottom of the glass its all over the place.

It will end up being a temporary trend and once everyone tries it sales will diminish. At least Pabst saw the opportunity and took it - I'm sure they have made a ton.

I don't see why I'd want alcohol in root beer anyways. It tastes great how it is.

I agree. I thought it was pretty good at first but didn't end well. I still have a couple bottles in the fridge for people to try but I won't buy it again.

it's not a beer you really need to put in a glass. just buy a kooze bottle and it'll stay cold for the 10-12min it takes you to drink it.

I bought a couple 6packs of it. wouldn't be able to drink more than 3 per session. it's too sweet and filling

Big Root Beer fan and I found NYFRB to be pretty tasty for what it is. As has been said, too sweet to drink many of them... but still good.

Also picked up the Coney Island one.... that's a big ol' meh.

I agree it's the best strong root beer I've had. Just not really my thing I guess. I'd like to try the stronger versions.

yeah it's hard to hit up everything you want in the 3.5 hour time you get. 7 hours should cover it all

plus more time to hit up funky buddha.

    a few things:

    1. It's February 5-6 next year, not end of March like normal.
    2. Will be hitting up Hill Farmstead on 2/4 like normal and drop $500 like normal.
    3. Session 2 (Sat afternoon) is already sold out. Tickets went on sale Saturday.
    4. Car is full so you'd have to drive yourself.

Ha, I thought about this today when I bought 4 Elysian bombers. I gave zero fucks and am looking forward to them.

Also picked up Odell's pineapple sour. Nice gentle sour that isn't too aggressive. I have found I wish it was more aggressive and seem to gravitate to enamel erasing sours like Nightmare on Brett and Upland Kiwi And I just realized I didn't send that little box last week, will be forthcoming Kevin.

Your comment about octoberfest beers just made me think that it's the time of year people start complaining about Pumpkin beers coming out. Wasn't talking about you specifically being angry.
