The asking price must be too low. And if it's any lower than a first round pick and maybe a late round pick, I don't blame them. But, I also don't think they can keep him on the bench forever. Even 1 more season seems like too much. Bench guys have a shelf life and he's pretty much at that point.

they can't keep him this season unless they plan on keeping him going forward. Tom and Jimmy have the same agent, maybe tom said he only wants two more years and the pats are going to work out a long-term deal with Jimmy. I don't think any of this is happening though. probably just driving up the asking price.

This will just open up the door for people that say the pats will keep both and not explain how.

I think there's 0 chance he sits on the bench for 2 more seasons and then is actually effective after that. That'd be 5 years on the bench... way too long I think.

you don't? If is lose Jimmy G that could be the QB of the team for 10+ years or keep Brady for maybe another year or two in his 40s when the drop off can be almost overnight? I think BB would have no problem taking a few good draft picks for Brady while he goes and finishes his career on a different team

was saying that if they keep JG, you can take that as a pretty solid indicator that TB has told the team he won't be around as long as he's publicly stated. that decision wouldn't be made without some heavy input from brady

Put it this way if they believe Tom Brady would be the QB of this team for the next 5 years, then why wouldn't they trade Jimmy G now? Like everyone has pointed out it makes zero sense to keep him this year.

IMO if they keep Jimmy G that means they think he is the next one independent of what Brady does or says, if you have the next Aaron Rodgers on your bench you do not get rid of him no matter what you are offered.
