Absolutely not, it's the exception for a G7, not the rule... for every reason that spoot mentioned above.

"Yeah, but the ratings from 2014 are way down from 2001, so I don't acknowledge anything you've just said. How do you explain that drop in ratings from 2001 to 2014?!?!"

If 9/11 happened in 2014 to a city that was represented in the WS, you bet your ass 40 million people would be watching. That says nothing about popularity. It says everything about world events.

The issue here is that he is blatantly ignoring facts that people have presented. He has is so far down this rabbit hole that he created, he will never admit defeat. Defeat doesn't necessarily mean that everyone is right and he's wrong though. It's very black and white to him.

Everytime in this thread where he says "that argument doesn't work for me" shows that he just needs to be validated.

How do you argue with someone who blatantly just says he's not going to argue with your facts? It's impossible to argue with Yankees.

speaking of last night, tuned in for a few innings, had no idea what a cluster fuck the situation is with the bleachers at wrigley. doesn't sound like it could be avoided but wow, that's got to be killing the cubs revenue wise.

I heard they considered playing all home games in Milwaukee at one point. Bathroom situation was supposedly atrocious as well.

that would have been even worse. there's another major league team in chicago, they wouldn't have considered sharing that stadium before going to Milwaulkee.

I think they discussed that, becuase due to the roof, all the games could be scheduled and confirmed that they were going to be played.

Milwaukee was considered before U.S. Cellular because the White Sox owner wouldn't be willing to help the Cubs out. It take MLB twisting his arm to make that happen. It also probably wouldn't be a good look if the Cubs outdrew the White Sox at their own park.

Guys the Yankees weren't playing Opening Night and so the game was on ESPN2 and so nobody watched and there was a weird box on my tv all night and so that led me to stop watching which means everyone stopped watching and then the score was only 3-0 which means people were bored (because offense) and so they stopped watching and if the Yankees don't win the World Series or the Red Sox don't overcome an 86-year drought BASEBALL'S GONNA BE DEADER THAN IT ALREADY IS!!!!

All of Wrigley is under construction. They tore the bleachers out completely and actually expanded Wrigley. The two way street by the bleachers is now a one way street.

The bleachers got delayed because last year they realized the water main system was really old. So the city wanted to replace it since the area was all dug up anyways. That delayed construction. Winter cold lasting longer also delayed construction. They could have caught up but the mayor declined to extend construction hours because he's in a runoff election.

Can you imagine if the women's FF doesn't get ESPN coverage? It would be a mess. Right decision to put that on ESPN and baseball on 2. Baseball fans know where to look. Nothing to do with a decline.

I saw this on Twitter today and thought of this thread.

@MLB_PR: The cumulative attendance of 3,093,382 for the first 2 weekends was the most ever, eclipsing 2,978,303 during the first 2 weekends in 2005.
