Meb Keflezighi
Joan Benoit Samuelson
Shalane Flanagan
Sammy Wanjiru
Martin Lel

Favorite moments .. Hall 2007 Olympic Trials and first American under an hour for half marathon, Webb HS mile, Kastor '04 Olympic bronze after being 18th through 20 miles, Meb winning Boston year after bombings, Rubb 10K silver in London Olympics. Yes these are all American things but seeing yet another Kenyan or Ethiopian win a time trial type race and set a record does nothing for me. Wanjiru stands out to me because of how he raced, he was an infinitely more talented version of Pre as far as mindset goes.

Very cool list man. Agree about salazar now, but back in the day he was legit. I see what you mean about wanjiru, but talent was never the attraction about pre. It was his style, which broke with the norm of the time and pushing the limits of his talent despite others being more talented. Just grew up idolising him and his style.
Ill have to think of some best moments, but the webb mile for sure. I remember being crushed watching el garrouj trip on the final lap of the 1500m final in atlanta. Glad he got gold later.
