Since there is only two shows left in the winter tour let the rumors begin.

This was in the rumor thread but thought I'll post it here too. Looks like Phish will be stopping here this year.

i'm excited for phish coming here. i hope its true. i've wanted to see them the last few years, but i couldn't commit myself to traveling 2-3 hours to see them when i am not at all familiar with them. having them come 15 minutes away is very enticing though. and it'll give me a chance to use my "employee" shirt

i've heard nothing but great things, but i just couldn't travel for a band that did nothing for me when i tried listening to tapes and watching youtube. i know its completely different live, but i've never had money to blow on something i might not like. if they come to scranton, i could see them for about $3.85. thats worth taking a chance for

I couldn't stand Phish for years and still won't listen to their studio or live albums, but their live shows are an experience I cannot articulate. I enjoy them even more than DMB shows because there is a happy vibe the entire show. Dave has some lull moments at shows that causes people to sit. You just never see that at Phish. They are really worth seeing, and I honestly could not name 10 songs by them.

So, what's the secret here at Scranton to NOT get stuck in the parking lot for over 2 hours? That happened to me last year. The show was great and I enjoyed the venue, but fuck it to hell, getting out was bullshit and I had a 2 hr drive home after finally getting out of there right before 2am.

When coming down the mountain make a left at the first light and get on 81 that way.

correct answer and have the faith that you are going the right way....it doesn't look right as there isn't much traffic but follow the signs to I -81 and not too far you see the entrance ramps to I-81. Montage Mountain is a great place to see a one night show. getting out of the lots is hit or miss, in 2010 we had VIP parking and had to wait about an hour to get out of the lots. Last year we were again in the lower lots right behind VIP parking in general parking lots and got out in about 15 minutes.

that makes very little difference by that point. that might save you 10 minutes, but the majority of the time it takes to get from your parking spot to the highway comes between the parking spot and that left turn.

if you want to get out early, you have to be in the lower lot, or the very end (closest to the exit) of the upper lot. if you can get a spot towards the right of the lower lot, you'll be out in 15 minutes. the worst part of the traffic is getting out of the lot and onto the road. once you're on the road you'll be down the hill within about 15 minutes. its the lot itself that is the problem.

Exactly. It's getting out of that horrid parking lot.

Thanks for the tip on the parking lot fiasco. Maybe it will work for me this year. I think I just need to get there earlier.

Can someone help me out? Scranton is my home venue and I haven't missed a DMB show there since they started coming but I usually do lawn.

    1. Does anyone know if Citi presale is going to happen?

    2. How big is the PIT? I have seen 20 some shows and have never been up front and thinking if there is the Citi presale hopefully I can score PIT this year!

    3. For those that have done PIT in prior years, is Scranton worth it?

Scranton PIT is huge... so yea it's worth it if you hang out towards the back of the PIT

The citi presale is on march 18th I think. I got pit seats through citi for the past 2 Scranton shows. Scranton is also my home venue. I enjoy the parking lot festivities as late as I can and just hang out towards the back of the pit. Always have an awesome time.

I wouldn't call it huge at all. From what I've seen, Scranton's pit is one of the smaller ones on the tour. In 2011 we opted for seats and with Warehouse seniority got first row just behind the pit. View was fantastic. Pit was well behaved but we liked where we were just fine.

relatively speaking, scranton's pit is very big, one of the bigger ones

No doubt Scranton if you are torn between there and Hershey. The lots are way more fun and the venue is way better than Hershey. I'm not even 2 hrs from Hershey and haven't been there since 04. There are plenty of hotels in wilkes-barre and Scranton. I'm sure you will find something in your price range. Red Roof Inn in wilkes -barre is very close to the highway, only about a 20 min drive to montage and has a Mohegan sun casino right down the road. Plenty of restaurants in that area too. The woodlands is right by the red roof too. That is nicer and I'm sure much steeper in price.

Question, should I do the Lawn here or go for the next price level up (the Pavilion Reserved Uncovered)? It'll be my first time attending a concert here. Thanks in advance.
