I'm really going to try to make this trip for the third time this year.

There was a big threat of destroying tailgating last year. With most venues creating Facebook pages, that venue went overboard, posted about disallowing tents, glass, etc and no one to be allowed to stay in the parking lot one hour prior to showtime. After getting ripped apart on Facebook, they backed off.

I've only the been in 2010 and 2012, but it seemed pretty standard for tailgating. Shade tents, beer drinking without getting hassled, grills, tailgate games, half naked girls with inflatable seahorses around their wastes. Can't ask for much more.

I definitely had fun at the Ants tailgate this past year.

Half-naked girls from Brazil are probably the best.

Yea, I remember the new policies being posted. But like you said, they amended them and backed off them.

My wife and I traveled to the Florida shows in 2010 and 2012.
For both years, WPB was pretty great, but Tampa has not been such a good experience. Last year it truly felt like a police state!!
We also prefer Cruzan Amphitheatre to Tampa (but lets face it - its no Gorge!!)
So if we go back for Florida shows, we will likely skip Tampa this year.

Anyone have other suggestions for a good 1 week trip out East, to catch multiple shows in a week, and be back home Sunday night? We would love to catch 4 or 5 shows in that way. May or June would be OK (I know we don't know tour dates yet - just tell me what you have done - give me an idea)

Considering WPB this year, 1st time. I have family in the Ft. Lauderdale area so won't need a hotel. How easy/not easy is it to get in/out of the lots? Normally when I travel for shows, I stay in hotels w/in walking distance or go with friends who drive & I don't really pay attention...but this time will just be me....any input is appreciated!

The party is on the north side, entering from Okeechobee Blvd. We've been stuck in that regular lot a couple times for over an hour. Pay the $20 for premium and it's an easy out. Last 2 years we parked on the south side right against Southern Blvd in a tree'd lot; little bit of a walk but easy out.

I always use a car service. I walk over towards Dick's, hop in the car, and go. It's awesome.

Just to clarify, I pre-arrange the car service. I kind of made it sound like I just walk up and hire one, and that's not the case.

In 2010 I had someone hand me VIP passes with parking. Its the way to go. No bullshit.

I learn more and more every time I go there.

& excuse my language I didn't mean any offense my friend. I'll see Dave anytime of year I just think these southern sheds like west palm should be used more frequently during the late winter, early spring, fall months vs mid summer. The weathers so much more ideal. I live just a few minutes from the venue so I'm used to the heat but but shit I'd enjoy myself a lot more in march-may here at te cruzan then in July or August, ya know what I'm saying?!?! Lol. That's why I can't wait to see Zac Brown play here in a few weeks. Phish used to play here in the mid 90's to, but they'd play in November. Either way I hope to see some of you guys & girls there this tour.

In the rumors thread they were mentioning a rumor about Tampa in late April i think? If that holds true who knows west palm beach might come early this year? It's so much nicer down here in April or may.

I don't know the name of the company. When we go, we stay at the Marriott on Singer Island, and book the car service through them.

It's $50, one way (we have friends drop us off at the venue). It's a pretty good trek from the venue to Singer Island, so I don't think that's that much more than a cab would be, and to me, not having to fight the cab lines makes the difference worth it.
I'm not sure if there's a discount for two-way (though I'd think surely there would be) or if they zone it out and it'd be cheaper for a closer route.

If we go this year though, we'll be staying with my wife's Aunt/Uncle who live in Lake Worth (pretty close to Military Trail off Lantana), so maybe we could go in halfsies on a car.
