Plunge is an excellent word for this thread and moment. Plunge, as in what my heart did when we found out we only got one night this year. Plunge, as in what my head is taking when we can't decide whether to leave our Honeymoon early. Plunge, as is what my heart does when I think of flying alllll the way out to the Pacific Coast

Admittedly, I have gotten better as the years go by. I flew for the first time in 2011 after not being on a plane for 13 years. I am getting better. But, we are seriously torn about this decision.

This is the truest statement on this thread.

One Starlake show certainly does make Gorge more friendly on the pocket book.

Alpine is also worth a mention.

Has anyone consider SPAC? However, given the comparison to what Starlake got over SPAC last year, I am worried about spending the money for SPAC.

LOL, I forgot that was in my sig...I took a little break from the boards. If we could get that on a one nighter, that would be awesome.

Its like a double whammy, only getting one night & putting Starlake & Blossom back to back at the beginning. I dont know why they did that. That being said, I believe someone said it earlier on here or I had just heard it off of the site more than once but I have heard there was a scheduling mess up on the venue part also.
2007 was weird only having one night and that was still when Blossom was booked on like a Wednesday every year. 2010 only being at PNC kinda made me go to Blossom and I like it there, so now it is an annual trip for me as well.

Blossom is a great venue. It's like PNC Park to Starlake's Heinz Field.

    For what its worth,

dmb had requested a 2 night date hold for June 14 & 15 at Starlake at the beginning of January this year. Every year they ask the venue to hold dates to set a 'workable' schedule. It appeared this was a 2 night thing, not an either or.

There's been a few times they requested two different weekends or the requested dates would change. One year Dave himself changed the Starlake dates because he wanted to see Phish the night before dmb were to perform.

Anyway, at the end of January I noticed the country mega ticket info was released and saw Toby Keith was scheduled for 6/15. At that point I contacted well...my contact and they said they weren't sure what happened, but it was still suppose to be a 2 nighter.

So a couple weeks ago I received word that they were really trying to just get the band there. That meant 1 or 2 nights and any date(s). This was the first time I ever noticed nervousness about scheduling this band. dmb is just about as consistent as jimmy buffet at Starlake or even more so. They appear to have an easy relationship and I think Starlake does what it needs to, to get those shows because in the ending, they're money makers.

They also did float me the 5/31 date and asked that I keep it very quiet, since again, they were really on edge. They were also hoping of course to work out the 2 nighter, but had that as a backup.

At this point, I personally think it was too late. dmb had probably already set up most of workable schedule and the availability of a 2 night fri/sat or sat/sun thing was out of the question. I also think the logistics were an easy fit for a late add.

So we get a one night show. Which actual wasn't really "official" until last friday or thursday, which was probably the final contact signing or at least thats what the text said that I received.

I don't know exactly what happened here regarding the scheduling dilemma...first, if there's blame or second, who should get it. I know I'll find out more in a couple months and if you're all interested in some background details, I'll be glad to share if its cool.

Accidents happen, and lets just hope this one-nighter thing was one of them.
