Pit looked like a decent size last year, lots of room towards the back. Tailgating? I will defer to the experienced; this venue has always been a last minute trip, as in we find our seats right after the opening act is done.

Tailgating is not allowed. Nor is alcohol in the lots. Stupid Virginia beach law.

Not to say one couldn't celebrate discreetly. The place to tailgate is princess Anne park, or the oceanfront.

Can always expect a really solid show from Va Beach...really an underrated/overlooked venue...I'm also going to Bristow for the first time this year. Sets have been hit or miss the past few years, got my fingers crossed.

I agree with this! Looks like they are going to be at Floydfest the same weekend. Wish the VA shows weren't the same weekend. Luckily I get to see JBT in Charlotte!

How is the parking at the amphitheater? Easy in and out or is this one of those venues where VIP parking actually matters? Any tips on hotel locations too? Thinking of making the trip to VA Beach with the wife and then heading up to Bristow.

Parkin is fine, never had a problem here. Pretty much any hotel in the Norfolk or VA beach area are the same distance from the venue. I'd stay on the oceanfront if you can find on that isn't too expensive. It's a great place to see the boys. Miles ahead of Bristow. That is a shitshow, but I'll be there.

So are most people beach bound / bar bound prior to the show if no tailgating is allowed? Coming to VA for first time and would love to meet up with some folks for drinks, etc. Staying at hotel (I think DoubleTree). Hitting up Bristow the night before and will definitly be having some beverages before the VA Beach show.

So I wasn't going to make it to this one but I ended up getting the day off so I will be making the pilgrimage. I will be getting to the venue late, so hopefully everyone making the Vabeach swing can make bristow so I can drink with everyone.

Princess Anne park is where I tailgated a few years back, was chill and got the job done with zero problems. Solo cups are advised.

I went to VA Beach last year and there were plenty of people tailgating. They got there around 11am though. We arrived first in line for VIP parking around 4 and the gate was locked, parking lot guys said they couldn't do anything about the tailgaters because they arrived before staff!
