Re: BWGK on Vinyl

This could have already been stated somewhere in this thread, but....

What are the numbers and letters that appear to be handwritten on the inner part of a vinyl? I noticed it on Big Whiskey but I've noticed it for years on other records I have.

AFAIK that is the way to track which stamper, mother, master, etc. was used.

I was looking to buy a turntable, especially now considering I ordered the album in vinyl....what did you buy?

I know you're asking someone else a question, but I thought I'd mention that post #438 is a pretty decent shortlist of tables if you're not going the used route.

Has anything official come out regarding the misprint? Has anyone seen a Vinyl edition that is correctly printed?

my supposedly "fixed" version arrived today. haven't unwrapped it. the sticker on the back has been pasted over with another sticker.

    original sticker:

    ID 886974871217
    W[something]
    05[something]
    L#M1 S#018

    stickered over with:

    ID 886974871217
    W90616002
    0502648553
    L#M1 S#073

won't open it until I get home to confirm

I notice this type of sticker also appears on my Incubus Monuments & Melodies LP that also came from a different supplier

What did you do to get a fixed version? Are they actually replacing these?

I think the hole in my BWGK vinyls is off center. The tonearm moves back and forth when its playing and I'm pretty positive I'm hearing some pitch variation.

Anyone know anything about this? I don't.

Does anybody know what the print run is on the Vinyl?

Also, does anybody know if any of these things are correct yet? I bought one at Best Buy when the album came out but I'm yet to open it. If it is screwed up, I'd love to get a corrected copy!

BWGK and the CD quality roadtrips I've endured makes me wish I had an internal vinyl player. I've heard it at my friend's place, and it clearly surpasses the CD.

as dobyblue pointed out, it came from the 24-bit digital mix.

My iPod had shuffled between Eyes of a Child pt. 1 by the Moody Blues, an MFSL master, into Lying in the Hands of God, a supposedly quiet song. I felt like I had just put on Papa Roach.

I'm getting mine replaced because the hole isn't in the center.
