Two Step Intro's

So I was at the Hollywood Bowl shows last year and I normally always pay attention to the intro to two step but for some reason I coulnt really make it out where I was or something and tonight was the first time I have listened to the tapers pull. goodness I have to say that this is one of my favorites.

Somehow, I head up to the clouds
Hoping God
Is watching us
Then a force
Will bring some
Wind, rose up and took my feet off
Wondering why
Above the clouds
Among the stars
Where is heaven lost?
Or behind the moon
Somewhere there
Is there really room
For [? one/old ?] God to stare down
[? in a fancy robe ?]
Seems to me the idea that
He would be paying attention to us
Kinda diminishes the whole idea
Of God in the first place
Oh, what if we were just a small
Mosquito dream lying among them all
Pretend a blade of grass is just as tall
[? The greatest so why does he work/worry for it?]

how about you guys? Favorite two step intros?

i would have to say the intro from alpine this past year. the lyrics along w/ the way he sang it. i listen to it often

    "I see this endless madness
I see this endless deep dark suffering I see
But I will learn to love
    I see this endless
Weeping and bleeding I watch it
I see it all but I will
I will learn to love it
    I see this weeping
    I see this tear-filled ocean
And I see this unstoppable anguish
    And I see the crying
    I see you my dear
    Weeping
    I see you there weeping
    And I tell you this
I will learn to love you
I will learn to love everyone..."

I agree that 10-2-07 is probably one of the best in years... in terms of the shorter ones, LS and CP are both great.

i'd have to go with my only live two step intro (8-8-07). As my favorite song, i felt the intro was great too.

however, i do like the 6.11.01 (?) giants field two step in the rain intro.

Bridgeview '07 was the best Two Step intro ever. The crowd's reaction after Dave said "...blade of grass, just as tall" was the most energy I have ever felt at any DMB show.

The LT10 one is unique. When I heard it live I felt like this was one damn weird intro. The whole "guns and bombs" was insane. He just kept repeating "guns and bombs" for a good 2 mins, increasing in volume every time. People were screaming so loud by the end of the intro that you could barely hear Carter.

i think last years two step intros were definitely a welcome change to the song, two step IS my favorite song and i was kind of afraid the the band might eventually get tired of playing it, especially with it kind of staying the same the last coupe years (i mean yeah the lyrics changed but the basic tempo and style to the intro were pretty much the same) and the 07 versions are noticeably different and you can tell the band and crowd are definitely feeling the new versions and i can't wait to see what they have for us this year!!!

I love the Gorge '02 intro

    Walking one night
I came upon this deep deep river
    And slowly by me flowed
And I wonder how long can it be
And maybe that was When I opened up and realized
The most i can do while I'm here now
    Is not a thing
    Leave it as I found

i've posted this tons of times, but still one of my favorites. especially given that it was in msg right before the war.

    12.20.02
by a stormy road i took
one look into rain and eyes alive
and fire when burned grows to stone
and so did all the soldiers
    pray that maybe god will
    watch over them
    it's when the battle breaks
that god turns to walk away

its becoming a much tighter song than the jammier/extended solo version of the mid 2000s which is where i had hoped they would go with it.

now we just need bartender to return to form , but thats another discussion for another day.
