Yep, that's me! My mom was a trooper, she stayed in the hotel that whole day when we took her car to the show, haha.

Looking into coming down for the weekend, and hitting up a Braves game that weekend too. Found a couple of decent hotels near the airport, fairly inexpensive and not to far from the stadium and venue. I know it is better to stay towards the northern part of the city, but would we be fine to stay near the airport, or is it worth the couple extra $$ to stay downtown (or north of the city)?

How's the pit towards the back. I'm not a huge fan of pit, but my wife's had the itch the past few shows. She doesn't need to be on the rail, but would like to be in the general area. Think we'll be alright hanging towards the back?

The entire pit fills to capacity, you're rubbing bodies in all directions. You can get there early and claim a spot.against the back rail, but by showtime you'll be shoulder.to shoulder and folks directly in front of you.

Pit just seems like a horrible idea. I am getting too old. Would rather have a seat to sit down in. Better yet, would rather they take the pit out and have seats like they used to do so my day one membership would still mean something.

If Livenation's seating chart is correct there's no pit at the show.

It's not correct...look up a few posts...or look at the TICKET LIMIT link on the same LiveNation page

Traffic in Atlanta is terrible but for concerts at Lakewood it is hell on earth. Took us about an hour and a half to go maybe 3 miles for Phish in 2012 and was about 45 mins late to John Mayer last September because of it.

Gotta chime in here and agree that the pit is not that great for more "mature" fans. My husband and I traded up to get in the pit at the gorge last year and really regretted it. It's asses to elbows in there, lots of loud drunk shenanigans, and it can end up being a pretty annoying time. We can now say we tried it, but we will always opt for seats in the future. Just my two cents if you're considering the pit and not sure about it..

Haven't requested this show yet. Hoping I can get some extra cash together before the deadline. Otherwise I'll be doing the TM thing. If only the request period was a week later so I could get paid. January is a tough month for teachers to buy a lot of extra stuff.

Yeah, this request period being right after NOLA is killing me.

Yea it seems like February would be a much better time for ticket requests! Why do they need the cash 5 months in advance

I can never understand this thinking. I bought premium for Pelham last year, was lucky to get row 5, and stood the whole show. It was the equivalent of standing at the back of a pit. Pit for me all the way - seats are overrated. And I'll probably never ever do premium again.

The only downside is the shenanigans. Most of the people I've been around in pits don't put up with it and hang together against the ne'er-do-wells.

DO NOT stay within 5 miles of the venue!! (downtown is 5 miles to the north, airport is 5 miles to the south, stay away from the area in between the two)

I would enjoy pit, except for the fact I'm a little under 5'2 and knowing my luck, I'd be behind a few 6 ft tall drunks and not see a thing >.< unless of course I'm fortunate enough to get in the front of the pit...then that would be pretty awesome.

ATL 2012 had a very short line of folks waiting for Pit. Granted, it was a weekday, but you could have shown up at about 5:30 and gone in at 5:45 and gotten rail to the side or 2-3 in the center.

I've yet to have a good pit experience. I literally got peed on in the pit at Orange Beach last year. I'd rather have seats that at least somewhat corral the jackasses and keep people from pushing, shoving, and standing on top of each other. Hopefully I'll have a great experience at some point and it'll change my way of thinking, but it hasn't happened for me yet!

I believe so, at most shows. The ones I've been in the pit we've had early entry.

That's ridiculous...I bet you were pretty pissed off after getting pissed on....

Hearing of experiences like that makes me not want pit at all there seem to be a lot of downsides...I'm still curious as to what it would be like though so I might just get pit to one show to experience it first hand.
