I mean it pretty much was. He played what he would normally playing going into AATW, but it went into Crush instead.

That's what it was in Southaven too. I really thought it was going AATW. Even had the same light setup.

There was one show this year I saw, can't remember which one, but for his bass solo intro he did some really cool effects, it sounded like an 80's synth intro. Was really neat.

So I tried putting together a 3 night stand with no repeats, some Classic DMB, the songs that Dave just can't give up on, and included the ladies on some different songs. This is what I came up with:

    Night 1:

    Old Dirt Hill
    Stay Or Leave
    The Dreaming Tree
    Snow Outside
    Raven
    Jimi Thing
    So Much To Say
    Anyone Seen The Bridge
    Too Much
    ---
    Big Eyed Fish >
    Bartender
    Granny
    Black & Blue Bird
    Rhyme And Reason
    Cornbread
    Broken Things
    Drive In, Drive Out
    Save Me - LL
    Gaucho - LL
    Long Black Veil - LL
    Stay - LL
    ---
    Baby Blue
    Lover Lay Down
    Two Step

    Night 2

    Beach Ball
    Oh
    Grace Is Gone
    Cry Freedom
    So Damn Lucky
    Loving Wings
    Where Are You Going?
    Tripping Billies
    ------
    The Stone
    Warehouse
    Lie In Our Graves
    Seven
    Crush
    You Might Die Trying
    Belly Belly Nice
    Dancing Nancies
    Pig
    Drunken Soldier - LL
Best Of What's Around - LL
    Sledgehammer - LL
    Everyday - LL
    --------
    Granny
    Grey Street
    The Last Stop

    Night 3

    Little Red Bird
    Pay For What You Get
    #27
    Mercy
    One Sweet World
    I'll Back You Up
    Stolen Away On 55th & 3rd
    Spoon
    When The World Ends
    ------
    Hello Again
    So Right
    Crash into Me
    Shake Me Like A Monkey
    Seek Up
    What You Are
    The Song That Jane Likes
    If Only
    JTR - LL
    Eh Hee - LL
    Be Yourself - LL
Burning Down The House - LL
    --------
    Pantala Naga Pampa
    Rapunzel
    Ants Marching
    Halloween

Not too drastically different from what they're doing now, yet enough variety to keep it interesting and keep everyone happy.

Would this be THAT difficult for Dave??

Was that the Mexico City stream? I remember hearing some funky bass in that stream, and hoping it would stick around this year.

To be fair, this really isn't any different from what he did in Raleigh. He played TSTJL, Raven, OSW, Billies, Satellite in the acoustic then #41, Warehouse, Lover Lay Down, Typical, Granny, WWYS in the electric, mixed in with Seven, Shake Me, Jimi and the putrid LL run (which had Save Me and Stay, two of the more tolerable LL songs I guess).

We know it's possible. The problem isn't that he never does it, it's that the predictability is entirely gone, especially with the LL and those songs like Seven, Shake Me, etc. completely wore out their welcome long ago.

Re: Setlist Game/Chat 2015 (Here Only!)

1 day late review here but I gotta say I really enjoyed the Bristow show - maybe it had to with it being my first show, or that I didn't setlist watch leading up to it, or that I was in the pit, or that I smoked for the first time since last tour and was just feeling good... who knows?

IMO the acoustic set was very good and there wasn't a bad song played in it. BEF> LIOG was an unexpected way to get the electric set going. I'm surprised I haven't seen more chatter about it, but Boyd owned LIOG. He sounded great and the crowd was feeding off his energy. Following with BBN (overplayed sure, but not terrible) and Crush, that's a pretty damn good 4 song start to an electric set. Also no Big Whiskey played the entire show, I'll gladly take that.

Now to the not as good stuff.... Black and Bluebird sounded just ok live but that was to be expected. Be Yourself I actually kinda liked. Obviously the lyrics or lack there of is a bit of a let down but I liked the sound of the song, and it was only 4-5 mins long so didn't really pay it too much mind. The next run wasn't great but at least Cornbread and DDTW are high energy which makes that run a little more tolerable.

Having somehow avoiding the Ladies all of last year my luck finally ran out. But I gotta say it wasn't completely awful. Now don't get me wrong, I never want to see them again and I woulda 100% preferred a 5 song run minus the Ladies but they didn't ruin the show for me. The encore helped that. Boyd again sounded good on Ants and he was jumping up and down during Halloween and really the whole night I thought the band had a lot of energy. It was good to see.

I've already got the Ladies this year 2 out of 4 shows I attended and I have 4 more left in July.

I'm betting they'll be at all 4 of those shows, too.

I wish Dave would grow some balls and play Dreaming Tree, Last Stop, Kit Kat Jam, Spoon, Pig. And if you're going to use the Lovely Ladies, play JTR.

If you find it, let me know! I play drums, so struggle to hear Stefan. I know Carter kind of drowns him out, but I feel like he could be louder.

Plus I think a little funk in his bass could be a cool addition to their sound on certain songs/jams.

I found it, I uploaded it. It's his intro to Crush, it has some really neat effect going to it. It was from 5/16, as mentioned above.

I'm surprised that JTR has still yet to been played with the Ladies. Compared to what were getting now with LL's, if they had a run that featured JTR, BOWA, If I Had It All, LBV, and Stay I don't think anyone would be complaining. All songs the ladies make sense on and a nice way to end a set.

I don't think there would be any complaining about those songs being played. The complaints after that run would simply be about the general presence of the Ladies. But that run would show the band putting some thought into how they are used.

Relistening to the Raleigh show, and the band really does sound great this year. That show was really good and a blast to be at, and I feel fortunate to have seen a solid set list after having 0 expectations.

With as good as they are sounding I really hope they start bringing out some tunes like Stone, Pig, etc. especially since Boyd seems to be at his best in idk how many years.

Just a few positive vibes I've had after seeing my only show this year, and listening to it on the plane this morning.
