Looked like last night a lot of the plays being called early on were designed for Brady to get the ball out of his hand early. But when you are down 17-0 at half, you have to start throwing vertically. That's where the issues are. They don't have a vertical threat at all, nor does the protection hold up long enough.

McDaniels sucks as coordinator and sucked last season too.

I'm not sure why anyone would disagree with that. Hard to live off those plays though. You need to at least keep the defense on their toes and if you are running 3-7 yard plays every time you get under center that's probably not going to work either.

Lots of questionable coaching going on. Ridley has looked good holding onto the ball yet still Vereen gets carries on 3rd and two. Makes no sense.

they started two rookies on the line last night. they're trying to switch it up

having bad lineman on the roster doesn't really have a fix though. brady is getting the ball out quickly cause he has to, but that's pretty easy for the defense to adjust to early in the game

To be fair to Brady,

When you have zero WR's (i mean edelman is ok #3 but shouldnt be the guy) and terrible o line It is impossible to do anything. But his deep balls are just ugly looking.

He still has a better sitchy with Gronk though then anything Cutler had Pre Brandon marshall.

And all the pats fans said "blah blah blah blame it on the line and no wr's" amazing to see the narrative change

Brady has never exactly been a deep ball guy though, even in his prime. 2007 was the exception, not the rule.

Gronk is a shell right now. He's an ok red zone threat but he can't create any separation. He's just a step or two slow and who knows if that will come back at this point.

yea you can't live off of those plays, i agree, but i think the whole team has regressed and that includes Brady, that's my whole thing

also, i'd like to give all the credit to the Chiefs last night. they took care of business at home...i'm not so sure an O-lineman here or a WR there stops that demolision from happening

i dont really think anyone needs to be blamed.

pats had an amazing run as perennial contenders.

basically impossible to do that for more than a decade in the NFL.

Except the Giants of course.

It's easy to be appear as Super Bowl contenders every year when you essentially have a free ticket to the postseason. The reality is the Patriots have done very little in the postseason in the last 10 years other than their 2 SB losses. One of their SB appearances, all they had to do was beat Tebow and watch Lee Evans drop a game winning TD and watch Billy Cundiff miss a game tying FG.

The Pats are obvs one of the best teams of the last 10-15 years in this league...but I honestly don't believe they have done anything special lately.

H2P is right. As laughable as they are now, since 1992 when Cowher took over the Steelers have only had three losing seasons. Go back to 1987 and the total is five.
