There is a Green P parking garage (literally underwater) on the south side of QueenQuay, just west of the foot of Spadina, where the Water Taxi docks. I dont know how busy it will be during the Pan Am games until the events start this weekend at the CNE site. I run by that parking garage most days at noon, so I will check it out to see how busy it is and let you know next week.

In the meantime I will book the Water Taxi for 11:15pm pick up at Ontario Place after the DMB show. Should be a fun way to leave. If we max out at 12 people, there is a 2nd water taxi operated by the same company, which will give us 24 spots.

The water taxi will let us off right where Spadina Ave hits the water.
This map link (from a different cruise company, Not the water taxi company) shows parking in the area.

With an apology for my triple posting, I have an update on the parking situation around the venue. Did some Pan Am events today at the CNE. There is lots of cheap parking ($5.00 flat rate..at least that was the rate today) off of Atlantic Ave, which is in the King Dufferin area. If you walk south along Atlantic you can walk under the railway tracks, through the GO station into the CNE grounds. You can enter the CNE grounds which is full of Pan AM stuff, ie venues, food trucks, live music etc (after going through security). You dont need a Pan Am ticket to do this. Walk south through the CNE across the bridge to the Molson Amphitheatre venue. This is by far the best way to park near the venue, and you get the chance to check out all of the Pan Am happenings, with lots of food and drink offerings before the show !!!

Somewhere between 7:00 and 7:30, likely closer to 7:30.

FYI, a friend went to the Def Leppard show at the amp last night. It was unclear whether they got through the Ex on the way to the show, but they were NOT allowed through it after the show. They were made to walk around.

That's kind of what I expected. Not a great motivation to "Take public transit" 15K people walking along Lakeshore Blvd to go around the CNE while cars go by at 80 kph sound like good planning.

With no Darien show this year, we are making the trip north. My husband and I are staying at the Rennaisance attached to the Rogers Centre...what's the easiest way to get to the Brazen Head (if that's where things are happening)? And then after the show the quickest/easiest way back to the hotel?

One thing for sure. The show will end right around 11pm. I can arrange for a Water Taxi, which can hold up to 12 people to take us from the venue (Ontario Place) right after the show (ie leaving around 11:15pm) to take us to the foot of Spadina Avenue, where you can catch the Spadina Streetcar/LRT up Spadina to the Bloor Subway.
Cost would be $10 a person. (DMB can be played on the Water Taxi during the trip) Any interest?
I'll confirm with my lady but I think we'd be down with 2 spots for the water taxi... We're staying at a hotel York&Wellington... Is that walkable from the Spadina dropoff location?

I just wanted to say that this is a very cool idea and I hope you fill the boat. I wish I was going with you all to the show by boat but I've made other plans to get there and I'm sorry to say it won't be nearly as cool as going by water taxi. Looks like you'll have a perfect evening for it too.

If any of you are on the fence about this idea I say you should jump at the chance.

Again! Hats off to you and I hope you organize it again next year 'cause I will be in for sure.

    Cheers!

    Water Taxi Status Update:
I tried to book a Water Taxi with Tiki-Taxi company. They say they are booked up. I don't believe it, I just think that they don't want to commit to this.
I have found good, cheap parking, fairly close on Atlantic Ave, and that's what I wiill be doing,....with a stop at the Craft Brasserie (120 beers on tap) before the show.
There is another Water Taxi company that may be willing to do this.
I didn't want to leave you "high and dry" so to speak.
Here is a link to the other company:

    http://www.torontoharbourwatertaxi.com/rates.html

You should contact them to arrange for the water taxi..if they will do it.

Enjoy the show...Traffic and parking issues aside.....I expect a lovely night with the LL !!

Yea, I'm not surprised you're having trouble nailing them down with the Pan Am games on and all. Still a cool idea! Worth looking into for next year.

Good call Alan, I'm glad to hear we can cross through the Ex to get to the Amp. Wasn't really looking forward to looping around, but getting off at Strachan wouldn't have been all that bad, especially with the weather as it looks right now!

I parked again last night on Atlantic Ave and walked through the Ex grounds (went to Trampoline not the Warped tour)
No problem getting through except for 25,000 wasted TFC soccer fans all trying to catch Go trains at the same time. It was a disaster. Should be fine on Tuesday. Not sure if they will let us back through the EX after the show.
I will be @ the Woman's Beach Volleyball final at 3pm on Tuesday then catching a few pints at the Craft Brassiere on Atlantic before the show. (120 beers on tap).

Deer Creek sets up for what should be a lovely show in Toronto.
    I expect the LL.

Band gets into town today. Toronto show is next!!

I've never seen the LL and would be fine with them in Toronto & Montreal as long as it's not the same songs both night.

I'm going to head down by 5 and try to score parking at OP(doubtful) or head up to Atlantic Ave.

Jeff Coffin at The Rex 9:30 tonight.

That's what I was thinking..... Would they really bother to get work visas for them and their crew for just 2 shows (TO and Montreal)? Seems like that would be inconvenient and a waste of time and money for everyone involved.

They did in 2001. They did play 3 shows in Canada. But they brought them along.

IMO LBV with LL is worth the price of admission alone.
I would also take Drunken Soldier, The Maker, Granny, and lots of other songs with or without the LL. I am still expecting them.

Based on the TM email today..you will be able to get into the venue from the Ex(PanAm Area) before the show, but wont be able to walk through the Ex after the show (as we suspected...see older posts).

I am still going to park on Atlantic Ave (as low as $5.00 parking) with a bit longer walk to get back to my car after the show and after the E2. Craft Brasserie on Atlantic Ave for beers (choice of 120 on tap) before the show.

Saw Jeff Coffin @ The Rex last night. Really good show. RR dropped in but didn't play.

    Big day tomorrow !!!
