Re: Wilfred: New FX show

i can't buy that wilfred is in ryan's head because wilfred does a lot of things that affect other people. so unless the entire show and all the characters are in ryan's head i dont see how just wilfred could be imaginary,

I've taken it as a Stewie/Bryan situation. That's the only thing to make it "realistic" but I've just accepted that it's a crazy television show that is obviously meant to mess with your mind so as to take everything with a grain of salt. For instance, the S1 ending. It was just the writers messing with you. The whole purpose of the show is to show how Ryan allows his inner conflicts run his life and how his mental illness displayed through a talking dog is somehow turned into a (dark) buddy comedy.

I wouldn't pick it up again, it's gotten pretty fucking weird. I mean, certain things were predictable, but the whole thing with Ryan's supposed mental illness, his dad, his sister, and Wilfred's control of his life, it's not as funny.

S1 was great. Lots of humor, enough quirky behavior, a couple good plotlines. It was enjoyable but then the S1 finale kinda left things on an odd cliffhanger and then they never answered it in S2. That season just got outright weird and never answered anything. I've seen about half of S3 and it was still just weird. I'll catch up eventually, but this show kinda lost the element that made me want to start watching it in the first place.

Just got caught up on S3. It actually picked up a lot compared to S2. I had to finish the last 5 episodes so I decided to watch the S3 start to finish today. So much better than the S2. Kinda gets back to the whole buddy comedy idea.

The finale was...odd. Not sure where they're going. I kinda got the idea that they may not make a S4 depending on FX's decision. Regardless, I'll keep watching the show if it's more like S3.

I really like this show. The mindfuck aspect is intriguing to me, since I really don't watch any other show like it.

I try and get my girlfriend to watch sometimes, because she would love all the dog jokes of Wilfred chasing things and digging holes, but any episode I show her he ends up having one of those raunchy scenes that he's humping Bear.

That was great! Last night was an interesting episode. I really think the writers are are going to give the show some closure when they end it.

Really enjoyed last night's episode. Kept me engaged and I was surprised when it ended. I thought it had only been 5 minutes. This season has been the best since S1 IMO

    Finale was fantastic.

I thought they ended it just right. Got all the answers they had built up. Love that they confirmed that Ryan was crazy and Wilfred was just dog (great that they showed what he really looked like). Came full circle too. All the stuff that brought it back to the first episode was great (even the second to last episode was referenced back to the S1E2 with the motorcycle stuff). I like that Ryan just owned up to being crazy. The show had its ups and downs but overall I really enjoyed it. Things seem much better now that there's an explanation for everything (except the basement).
