My guess would be just a 10-year anniversary re-issue. I think most of their studio catalog is still fairly available

Yeah most of their studio albums aren't hard at all to find for a decent price. I picked up BSSM for $25 a few months back.

air's talkie walkie was just rereleased. get that if it's under $20.

a new record for $20 is getting harder and harder to come by.

Just go browsing - may find something you never even thought of buying. That happens to me every time I go.

And maybe they'll let you pay the difference if it costs more.

That RHCP Stadium Arcadium was mastered and cut all analogue from the original analogue stereo master tapes by Steve Hoffman, it's splendid and great to see it back in print.

Definitely not allowed to 'upgrade'. My plan was to totally just look around till I found something, then my boss pulled a fast one me and requested I attend a meeting after work. I had 20 minutest to look.

I'm happy I won, but had almost no time to just look for anything fun/interesting. Just pulled White Stripes, it was in the price reanimated and ran out.

Man, I wish By The Way would get that treatment. Readily available 2002 2LP for $23 doesn't scream "I'm AAA!"

Nice. I ordered that one too. Should be arriving late next week. That's quickly becoming one of my favorite albums. Absolutely beautiful.

Unfortunately I think both Californication and By the Way were too victimized by the loudness wars and will never sound great. I have a 2012 re-master/re-press of Californication and it is leaps and bounds better than the CD, but still not as dynamic as one would hope. It also uses the alternate mix of "Easily" with the outro that was featured on the greatest hits CD.

    http://www.discogs.com/Red-Hot-Chili...elease/3971421

But as far as By the Way is concerned, it is almost un-listenable; CD or the 2002 Vinyl. Another fatality of the loudness wars.

If anyone else is looking for the Californication 2012 repressing mentioned above, the ASIN on Amazon is B00000JQ0E

It was cut from 24/192 WAV files by Chris Bellman @ Bernie Grundman Mastering. It is not on par with the amazing AAA pressing of Blood Sugar Sex Magik (ASIN B005VPLZ76) or the AAA Stadium Arcadium, but it is as BTB mentions noticeably better than the CD which was just f'n horrible.

I mention the ASINs in case you shop on Amazon so you can find them easily.

    Ordered one, thanks!

Did you see where he answered a bunch of questions on twitter and talked about the 1984 7" follow ups? 1985-8, in the same vein then 1989 is gonna be guitar and piano solo covers off the Taylor Swift album. Most likely he's just joking but i now want to hear that very, very much.

Finally got my hands on LT2. Paid $110 for it which is probably bit over-valued but it was unopened and I also got LT3 and LT4 undervalued ($110 for the two) so I guess it evens out.

    Now to get LT1 haha

Started obtaining the Johnny Cash American Recording albums on vinyl. I got 1,3 & 6 ordered today. Probably gonna order 2 & 5 before the end of the week. Bol 4 is the most expensive (only $30 but the others are only $15-20) so I'll probably shop around on it for a while or try to get a coupon.

I'm pretty sure LT2 was $90 so $110 for unopened is pretty reasonable. Good luck with LT1. The ones for sale are basically just flippers. I know some folks around here here got a duplicate LT1 when the black popped up out of nowhere on the store and I didn't see anyone comment about helping out an ant. I did see more pop up on Discogs for $300 plus the next day though.

Dude, I thought he was just messing around but holy hell I'm way more excited about that than I should be!

I really wish he'd get through 1985 or a few other years before jumping to that but whatever - he can have my money now.
