I wanted to get some tickets for the New Years Eve show in Asheville, but by the time I had logged on, they were all sold out.

Loving the new album BTW, there isn't a song that I don't like.

it seems like my sister and I were lucky ones and got pre-sale.
and I'm positive that my sister told me if you were one of the first 30 people to order pre-sale you get to go early and sit/stand where you want. I'm hoping that's true. and that we were in that 30.

Saw the Avett Brothers last night at the Ryman and it is quite possibly the best/most energetic/most fun show I've ever been a part of. The place was electric. I definitely recommend catching them if they are in your neighborhood.

It was a blast. I don't know if it was because it was on Halloween or because it was at the Ryman or what, but it was one hell of an environment. The guy in front of me said he had seen them play at Austin City Limits and he said it was great but it was nothing compared to this show. They only played 5 or 6 songs off of the new album out of a 20 song set, so yeah they played several older tunes. And to top it all off, they came out as the three amigos and played the three amigos theme song to open the set. It might be because the show is so fresh but it is probably tied for my favorite concert experience to date (I can't put it above Nickel Creek's final show...also at the beautiful Ryman Auditorium).

My older sister saw them at the Ryman as well. She dressed as sally, her friend was sally's lover, and her other friend was dressed as sally's lover's killer.

I am so excited about NYE, and I'm even more excited that they moved it. I'm super excited about Langhorne Slim opening as well!

I'd have to say that Laundry Room is the one that gets repeated... but almost every song is great.

Laundry Room is so awesome, but I can't say I have a favorite, they're all so good. I prefer their new album over Emotionalism though.

It's really hard for me to compare this new album with the older stuff... it really feels like a new era for the band and this is new territory.

I've heard some backlash toward the new album from the 'original' fan community.. but to me, quality is quality, and I and Love and You is most definitely quality. I didn't think it was the drastic departure so many others do, but it is different and to me it felt like a natural progression.

The good news for you is they have a great back catalog of albums. You'll love the discovery.

But do yourself a favor and go see them live.
