This was never answered on the first page: How in the world did people on this site conclude that a truncated Recently (RR95) was the definitive version of that song?

its not even truncated. truncated implies pieces of the song are missing such as grey street or LIOG when its missing its "reprise" if you can even call it that. that said, sunshine on my shoulders/some people do intros, and WWJ are tagged after it so its not stripped to its basic format like LT3. LT3s version is as basic as it gets. i always found it odd how people hate when its "truncated". the song itself is still played in its entirety, and its amazing by itself. the intros and jams after are just additions.

people now try to argue grey street is played in full when that is absolutely false. but theyll shit on recently when its basic.

Soo good. Underrated tune. This reggae-esque jam is fantastic.

Yah Spoon studio is a monster, but I'll put 09.03.03 up against it, Carter on fire in that version more than any other I've heard.

    Is this available somewhere?

2003 was a decent year for it... the CP bonus disc has by far the best live version released. Still not close to studio for me though. It needs that guitar riff/sound/tone that Tim plays (that, let's face it, he'll never be able to replicate live).

This . The 6/29/12 performance of Shotgun truly represents the culmination of the song's evolution throughout the years. Between Carter's insane fills, to Dave's improv third verse, and the perfect escalation of wailing throughout-- it's just a monster of a performance through and through.

The SPAC '08 performance of Shotgun while emotionally powerful (Dave's murdered sister being the subject matter) just doesn't have that same "pop" like the 9/23/06 version, the 8/26/07 or the 6/29/12 versions for that matter when it comes to a "complete song" feel.

You Never Know - 7.9.2003 - Target Center, Minneapolis, MN

This was released on the Central Park Bonus Disc.

Hard to beat this version IMO. The mix is just so clean. Dave's voice sounds great. Carter is on point especially with his intro.

There was no Last Stop on 12/7, did you mean 12/3, 12/5 or 12/8? Of the three, I prefer 12/3.

This is fantastic and probably the definitive, but LT8 and 7/31/10 could give it a run.

I have a version of so right on my ipod, I don't know the exact date but it's from the 06 tour. I always loved this version. Rashawns solo goes a bit elephanty but he does recover nicely. I'll try and figure out the date of the performance.

7/31/2010 is probably my most watched video on youtube. As for spac's version, dave's voice is not really in great shape. I think this version would not translate that epicly into a release, just like two step in the rain.

The WPB one is good, great fill by Carter where he usually starts going nuts but there are so many other versions where he does the same, Live in NYC and LT8 for example
