This release is proof that it is impossible to please everyone. Wow. Just because this release isn't a 2016 show doesn't mean the won't eventually release 3 or 4 of them.

I find it fun to argue in a board about my favorite band. I don't think it should be considered a melt to defend your points of view about why I like or dislike something. Doby did not prove me wrong. He has no fucking idea if it was filmed professionally or not. When I said prove me wrong, we'll just see when it comes out. And when it does, I hope he has proved me wrong. I am not hoping for a shit release. But it's not that exciting on paper.

Here are things you will all disagree with:

I LIKE THE SOUND OF THE GORGE RELEASE! I don't care if ANYONE else likes it or not. For the record someone asked me why I would not be excited about this 2002 release when the Gorge 02 release was so great. I am not alone here.

I AM NOT THRILLED ABOUT #LT40 being released. I WOULD RATHER HAVE HAD A 2016 show from SPAC or Gorge or West Palm Beach. An official release of three new songs along with some of the sets in 2016 would make me much happier.

Again I loved 2016. I've made my point about that several times.
Everyone else in this board is living in 1993-2004 and only wants the band to sound like that for eternity. I've moved on 12 years later, and enjoy where they are currently at.

Not everyone else on this board is stuck in the past. I love the 3.0 sound for the most part. 2008-2010 they were playing great performances. 2016 performances were not good overall.

People want releases from 93-04 because thats when the band sounded best. Do you at least realize that this LT will sell probably 4-5x more copies than if they released SPAC N2?

So much this. Getting mad because this specific release isn't from 2016 is moronic. There are plenty more LT to come. It is very likely a 2016 show will get released. Why is it so hard to just look at this show, and be happy it got released? This is one of the most iconic shows in this bands history, and it's from a year we don't have many releases from.

Everyone else is entitled to their opinion. I will eat my words if I enjoy this release. It needs to sound fucking outstanding though and I doubt an arena show is capable of that. We'll see.

she show being in an arena has absolutely nothing to do with how a professional mix will sound

    that's common sense dude

I really want a '16 show with Bob Law, Samurai Cop, Bismarck and maybe a Death On The High Seas (give me Charlottesville '16 and another strategically selected '16 show) but I'm jazzed about about this selection.

If you don't even expect to enjoy this release why the hell did you bother to buy it?

Also saying the sound is affected by the venue really shows how little knowledge you have on the mixing subject, yikes.

I thought your original complaint was that the filming would be bad? I can't imagine the audio being anything less than Gorge '02, which you loved.

Don't mean to be a hater, as you can certainly have your opinions (setlist preference or the idea that the video won't be as good for example), but it just sounds like you are looking for a reason to bash it now.

Also, and this is somewhat subject to personal opinion, but good audio from an older show is way more valuable than the newer shows. Taper recordings the last few years have been pretty amazing. Gorge this year is a prime example.

Doby did not prove me wrong. He has no fucking idea if it was filmed professionally or not. When I said prove me wrong, we'll just see when it comes out. And when it does, I hope he has proved me wrong. I am not hoping for a shit release. But it's not that exciting on paper.
Logic fail. If something can't be proven, explain how it can be disproven? You made a claim, the burden of proof is on you.
