Junior: yeah, pretty much, for the reasons you stated.

I rewatched the first half of season two yesterday and...

...Bobbi's made a number of comments like "Shield's not Shield anymore" or "that's not how Fury would have done it," and in the last episode when Mac had his outburst his general thesis was that Coulson didn't handle the obelisk situation correctly.

I'm guessing that Maria (or another former high level SHIELD official) don't like the way Coulson's been operating/don't think Coulson should succeed Fury. If it's Maria it could tie into a "I'll handle protecting the world, thanks" attitude for Tony Stark, which could have obvious connections to Age of Ultron.

Really? I would rate it right up there with the best. Not that that's an overly high benchmark, but with what they did to the heads of Hydra and the transition into the Inhumans storyline, the show is actually showing signs that it's going to have a proactive impact on the MCU as opposed to simply reacting to the events of the films. It's finally starting to feel like it matters.

It was great having Sif back last nights episode, she could have been used a little better but she is always a welcomed guest for the series. Would have liked an Asgard update, but she stuck to the mission which is fine too.

One hell of a bomb dropped at the end of this episode. What I don't quite get is, okay the camera zooms back on the logo of "the REAL Shield" on the wall, it's the normal one we know of, but with a star in the middle of it. Is that supposed to imply this shadow organization is Cap's doing?

and just glad to see that there's really barely any filler going on with this show anymore, we're not just biding time til the next big thing. There's a lot of solid story going on.

I'm pretty surprised that Marvel let the show that is establishing Inhumans have a one-off "enhanced person" that had Black Bolt's power to a lesser extent.

well and what cracked me up at one point, and I realize this is just sort of one of those things you have to go with in the moment... but the guy who could make people go catatonic at the sound of his voice. Coulson had just that extra little beat of time to put that guy down, because the dude went to lunge for the microphone that was laying on the ground. uhh, they'd already said all's the guy needs to do is whisper! Why would he suddenly need a mic that was so important to grab to use his power?

To be fair, Angar the Screamer has existed in the Marvel canon for 40+ years. But yeah, he's a poor man's Black Bolt.

I rather think that was the point. All of the people Skye's dad put together were "science experiments" rather than being "naturally gifted", and therefore they were all sort of a poor man's version of the genuine article.

Not me. I think the ending of Cap 2 positioned Fury where he needed to be for Age of Ultron... but then again I've been avoiding AoU info like the plague, so you might know more than me.

So since Age of Ultron will be the first MCU movie I will have watched opening weekend since starting Agents of Shield, can someone tell me how that works?

Do you watch AOS on Tuesday the 28th, go to Ultron that weekend and then the episode of AOS on May 5th follows what happens after Ultron?

How did it work for Winter Solider? Just so curious haha
