I'll be headin' down 65 from the Ville with 4 or 5. If general admission works like it did for Slugger Field last year, you get in line early and then when the gate opens a couple hours before the show they let you in one at a time and then it's a mad dash to the stage.

DMBAlmanac.com has this tour date as the "Rites of Spring Music Festival."

    http://www.dmbalmanac.com/TourShowSe...103&where=2009

Hopefully they do a full set here and not the 1.5 hour / 12 song set like they usually do at Jazzfest. It'd suck to drive 4 hours to see a partial show.

And, for those curious, here's the official website for that show from last year --

    http://www.vanderbilt.edu/ros/

Looks like curfew won't be a problem -- Lil' Jon was SCHEDULED last year not to take the stage on Saturday until after midnight.

May be a dumb question, but will we be able to go to all of the festival, or just DMB's part?

ah crap, you're right... And looking at the bands that played last year, it's not a real impressive line up.

And the headliners only had 1 hour sets... Anyone have more info on this?

We thought about getting VIP........Definitley doubt we do that now if DMB isn't going to be playing long. I'll probably still go.......but I'd like to have more info on set time too.

DMB is a bigger "get' than any 2 of those other bands combined from last year.

If DMB wants a 2 hour set, it doesn't look like there's anything that would stop that from happening if last year is any indication.

If it is a festival, then DMB won't play a full set and I'm either going down to Bama, NC, or waiting for the summer tour. I hope it isn't so but it sounds likely with it being labeled a "special show."

    Good call Emperor.

Still though, more often than not, they play shorter sets when it's a festival.

Plus, i like the atmosphere at shows. Tailgating before, you know everyone there is a dmb fan. I've never been to a festival with dmb before, but i'd have to think that it takes away from that a little bit.

i don't want to pay 70 dollars for a ticket, 120 for a hotel, and another 75-100 for food and gas to have the show be an hour and a half

Someone should probably email the WH asking if this will be a full set or a festival set. That would tremendously impact my decision to make this trip...

Looking at last year's lineup, Spoon, Feist, Old Crow Medicine Show, and The Avett Brothers are all amazing. If there are four bands of that caliber next year then this will be a great festival. I'll be there regardless of whether DMB plays a full set or not.

This is also the weekend of the Country Music Marathon.

There will be about 30,000 runners in town, hence all the booked hotels and ridiculous prices.

I don't know if this is the Rites of Spring Festival. I found a website that lists all the events in 2009 at Vanderbilt and it shows the Rites of Spring being April 17th and 18th. But I don't know how old this is either.
    http://calendar.vanderbilt.edu/calen...50?xtags=music

Plus the price doesn't add up to a festival ticket price.
I hope its not a festival. I'll be driving from Cleveland and would really like to see a whole set instead of a partial one.
    Time to change my signature!
