That is fantastic! They are a great breed and really smart! I have a F1 Goldendoodle that is 50% standard poodle (meaning he is big)! I love the poodle breed at this point as a result!

I will chime in here! I have a few people that I consider "best friends." That said, my closest "best friend" right now is female. Her and I met over 10 years ago when we both went back to school for engineering, and both were at the time switching from healthcare. Being non-traditional students coming from a similar background brought us close together quickly.
Yes, we had one moment of escalation to sexual tension about 10 years ago that resulted in us expressing that one drunken night. However, we both quickly realized the next day that we didn't really work in that way. Once that happened and the conversation was had, we never looked back at just becoming great friends. I have to say, it has been one of the most important and rewarding friendships of my life ever since.
We stayed friends throughout engineering school. I helped her decide on making the best decision for her first job out of school; she was considering taking a worse job to stay with her jealous boyfriend in NJ rather than taking a role with a top pharma company and moving to Germany. Luckily, she went to Germany, traveled all over Europe and eventually met her now husband. She was there for me when I got married. When the pandemic hit and my role in NYC dried up as a result, she helped land me my role now in North Carolina at that same top pharma company. That role basically resurrected my engineering career and has set up my career. We even got to work together for about a year on the same project. Eventually, I was a bridesman in her wedding and got really close with her husband who I regularly hang out with. Now, her husband and I work together on the same project too.
It is wild seeing how much each of us have grown over the years. It is also nice to hear her call me her "best friend." Luckily, the wife gets along well with her and her husband too!
Having a female best friend can happen, although I do think it is rare and might not work if one or both have feelings or sexual tension. Luckily for me, that tension was released early on and allowed us to move forward with just friendship.
