1st watch of Blue Jasmine was great. 2nd, it dropped a bit. Cate Blanchett doesn't make bad films.
My fave Woody Allen film...Match Point (Love Scarlett!) Yesterday was a twofer: Psycho and A Clockwork Orange Tonight: The Number 23

i enjoy # 23 very much. Jim and Virginia are excellent actors.
That was my 3rd viewing of Clockwork and I was stone-cold sober. Wild, intense, wow factor to the max = great film

Saw Nightcrawler tonight, movie and JG were excellent. Kinda feel the same way about this movie as I did about Gone Girl.

Mixed reaction. Jake G killed it. Liked the way it was shot, both in style and some of the action (kinda Michael Mann at times). My beef comes with the writing. For the first two acts, it was a serious movie with a subtle satirical layer lying just beneath the surface; quite visible but not in your face. Then, in the third act, they went full shark jump, abandoned all seriousness and went full on satire. |
