I'm pretty good at hiding my accent but it does pop out from time to time. Most of the time if I'm in Chicago or something girls think its cute but it has to be used sparingly otherwise you just sound dumb to a non-southerner's eyes

I was at a restaurant in New Orleans last summer and the waitress asked if I was from Alabama because my accent was so heavy apparently

I was deeply offended.

Anything south of Gainesville is Yankee land. Too many northerners down there.

I do, however include the Keys in the south because they are just awesome and have great fishing

But Miami, Orlando, and Tampa are not southern at all, imo. They are great cities, but they are just different.
