Obvious I'm impartial to Southern Rock, but I wish I could have seen all of these. A very close 6th was Bob Dylan

I've been fortunate to see several bands in their prime, Metallica, Blues Traveler, Barenaked Ladies, DMB, etc.
Allman Brothers is a nice pick. Don't know if they could knock anyone off my list though.

I had a chance to see them back in 93-94 but my parents wouldn't let me go . Now I'll never see them so I really regret not sneaking out and going anyway.

Most other bands I've wanted to see, I've seen. Pink Floyd , while maybe not 'in their prime' I really can't imagine them performing any better than they did. Same with Prince, etc.

    1. Genesis
    2. Beatles
    3. Led Zeppelin
    4. Jackson 5
    5. Frank Sinatra

Genesis is easily my 2nd all time favorite band. I saw Genesis at Giants Stadium in, I think 1991, and while they were still hugely popular, their best years, imo, were the years around 1980.

    Beatles and Zeppelin are self-explanatory.

I grew up on Motown and Sinatra as those were my dad's favorite music. Jackson 5 was my first favorite group and I remember being upset when I wasnt allowed to go to the reunion tour show at Giants Stadium. My dad didn't get enough tickets and I was left out. Their Christmas album is still a top one for me.

Sinatra is my dad's favorite guy. He offered me to go once to Carnegie Hall to see him and I laughed. I have regretted for years now not going. I obviously grew to appreciate his music and knowing what his music means to my dad and what my dad means to me, I would love to go back and experience a show with him.

thing is with Nirvana, okay their MTV Unplugged is an all time classic, but it feels like most of the stuff I've heard of them live (especially most of 93 and on), Kurt's voice just did not hold up very well outside a studio.

Same goes for Layne with AIC. There's no live recordings out there where his voice sounds 'great' (even Unplugged). I still would've loved seeing them back then though.

Cool. Another Genesis fan. They were my musical obsession before DMB.

3 Sides Live was my favorite cassette ever until RR95 came along.

Yeah I saw Rage back in 2007 at Rock the Bells in NYC, and it's still to this day the most out of control concert experience I've ever been involved in. I can only imagine what a RATM show was like back in the 90's.

    3. Jimi Hendrix (anything, anywhere, anytime)

love genesis. The hardest choice would be the era to see them in. The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway would have been excellent, but also Trick Of The Tail but their 80s stuff is amazing.

Funny you mention Three Sides Live, got to work with Chester Thompson earlier this year and had him sign my TSL vinyl album cover, he even opened it up to the silhouette picture and drew an arrow to him on drums and wrote "CT".

Didn't include the beatles b/c if I went to one of their shows, they wouldn't play the songs I really really love of theirs (because they wouldn't have been written yet)

They're my 2nd favorite band behind DMB, but I wish Stephen would come back. It just hasn't been the same since he left.
