Camden/Susquehanna 1st timer--need advice

Hey! This summer I'll be doing my 44th and 45th Dave shows, and I want to try the Camden Susquehanna venue. I've never been to Philly or Jersey.

Ideally, when I fly in from Jersey I won't have to rent a car. I'm looking for insight on feasibility of public transit from Philly to the show and where in Philly to stay...or, if there's a better place, suggestions.

I would love anyone's input on anything related to this venue. Thanks so much!

I have been to Camden a few times. Last year I stayed at a Comfort Inn across from Camden in Philly a few blocks from Penns Landing. Not a great hotel but lots of Dave fans. There are many nice hotels in Philadelphia but you will pay a premium (worth the extra money if you are looking for something nice). Transportation from a hotel to the venue is easy, getting back takes some patients. Stay close to the venue while trying for a cab... A few blocks from the venue and it gets dangerous quick. The atmosphere at Camden is a giant party, some find it to be a bit much, but I always enjoy a good party. I have always enjoyed the view of Philadelphia from the lawn area but recommend reserved seating to better enjoy the music. I enjoy the party atmosphere of the lawn, and making my way to seats when the sun goes down.

if you are staying in Philly and pretty much downtown take the ferry over...it literally drops you off at the venue...Penns Landing I believe...but we did it when we went to camden in 2010 and it worked out perfectly

wait, fly in FROM jersey or TO jersey? if you're already in NJ, just drive there. its not that big of a state and it would make everything else a whole lot easier.

I prefer the PATCO line from Philly (8th & Market) to broadway in Camden. You can take the riverline trolley to the venue. Coming back, we usually walk back to Broadway. Yes, Camden is sketchy, but there are lots of cops around and lots of concert goers.

The ferry over to the venue is ok, but getting back is a pain. PATCO is faster and slightly cheaper
