Only show that can be discussed in the same sentence as Breaking Bad. And Breaking Bad is still the better show.

Apparently you aren't familiar with a little show called Entourage.

Almost as comical as stating an opinion as a fact.

Edit: For the record, my prior post was meant in jest.

I'd put BrBa in the team photo with Wire, Sopranos, Mad Men, Deadwood, BSG and Shield. It's definitely in the conversation, I won't fight that. It did innumerable things well, more than 99 percent of shows in TV history.

If we judge them by how few flaws they have, Deadwood probably wins that particular argument by virtue of the fact it aired the fewest episodes of the bunch, so it had the fewest opportunities to make mistakes.

it sucks that the budget got so big for Deadwood...and the fact that they packed so much history into 3 seasons

    i could watch Deadwood forever

After I said it had the fewest flaws, I'm truly trying to think of what the show did wrong aside from starting a few small stories it never paid off, like Joanie hustling Ellsworth.

BrBa fans will know the actor who played Ellsworth as Lawson, the dude who sold Walt the M60 in the trunk and the .38 snub nose.

The pacing is glacial. I don't think anyone should try to argue against that.

I see Mad Men less as a soap opera and more as a character study, just like BrBa. It's just a different period and a different man.

Since Thursday of last week, I've watched seasons 1-3 and I'm on Ep. 6 of season 4. Awesome show. I'd seen bits and pieces as it ran originally, and I read up on enough to know what was going on for the second half of Season 5 thru watching the Finale when it originally aired. Going back and watching it as a comprehensive story is quite fun. Compelling storytelling and character exploration. There seems to be a lull here in the early portion of Season 4, but I'm patient and understanding of the need to take time in getting to where the storytellers are going every now and then. Overall, this show is great.

For me, BB > Sopranos > The Wire, but they're all really close and stand well apart from most other series.

I will say that I didn't feel there was a single wasted minute on BB (yes, I liked Fly), and I don't know that I can say that about any other show.

The first time I watched S4 I hated the first half. Having gone back and watched the show entirely 4-5 times I think S4 is fantastic. It's a bit slower paced but there's some incredible episodes. It picks up pace a lot towards the end that season. Some of the show's best eps come in S4.

The Fly had purpose and was executed well-enough (I liked it a lot at first, but rewatches not so much).
It's just one of their only episodes that suffers big time with repeated viewings.

The shoplifting scenes with Marie were utterly pointless. Other than that, no real wasted minutes.

Re: 308 Negra Arroyo Lane: Breaking Bad Appreciation

I figured it as additional times to familiarize the audience with the character,
as well as more attempts for emotional attachment of the viewers.
Didn't like her necessarily, but definitely impacted Hank's storylines and character at key moments.
Literally the exact opposite due to it's success(es) in comparison to Skyler.
