Ya, I just got into him last summer. Looks like I missed him by a year, played about 3 dates or so in Florida. Wasn't happy about that one.

Saw Karl Denson's Tiny Universe last night...so much funk, had a fantastic time. Tauk was the opening band, they were very impressive. They did a sick cover of she's so heavy. Would see both of them again.

That's great to hear, seeing them in two weeks in Austin. Jealous you are going to Firefly. Is that Newport, RI fest? Been a few times, love anchoring down a boat and listening to some great music in my hometown

What kind of music is Neutral Milk Hotel? I keep hearing their name but have not heard their music. Any suggestions on which album of theirs to check out first?

Sort of freak/psychedelic folk. They only have two albums, but the one to start with is In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, which is a concept record about Anne Frank.

many of the the songs sound very bouncy and optimistic, but a lot of the lyrics are actually really dark, painful, disturbing. his voice is pitchy and unpolished, the music often sounds bizzare, but that's half of the appeal for me. the first time i listened to it i was in like 7th grade and didn't really understand any of it, but it grew on me with time. the song writing overrall is top notch.

    enjoy

I'm the biggest Paul Simon fan you'll meet and he's still fantastic live but I don't care about Sting at all and the ticket prices are just too steep for maybe an hour of a concert I'll really be interested in. I wish he was just touring on his own or even better, with the Funkel. Oh well, maybe I'll be able to swing it somehow when the shows near me get closer.

You'll have a blast. Firefly is the shit I just have to figure our logistics haha (as always). Newport folk fest in Newport, RI. Fort Adams is such a cool fucking venue. Beautiful city. I'd love to live there some day.

NMH is really the band that paved the way for current bands such as arcade fire, decemberists, etc. neutral milk hotel is the original hipster. Magnum has one of the most polarizing voices I've ever heard. It's a voice you'll never forget once you hear it. They disbanded in 1998 and formed a reunion tour in late 2012, early 2013 (not sure which). They've added 2 additional legs onto the tour. I'm very thankful they did so I can see them.

I'm really like Simon a lot, he's the main reason I want to go to this show. Sting is pretty good to me, he plays a lot of stuff from his solo career and with the Police (I saw him at the free show with DMB in ATL last year). I'm interested to see what they're going to do together.

I really want to go, but there's 6 shows in March I want to see and it may be a little overkill on my wallet and trying to get time off of work, and it's a 4 hour drive from me.

Seeing a band called ahab tonight. They've been described as a "UK Americana" group which sounds weird. I guess they don't have a strong following outside Britain but they're playing a few shows here in Denmark so I figured I'd go check them out.

I saw them last year in Chicago - they were awesome!

Right now, it's just DMB, both nights in West Palm. Maybe Springsteen in May, if the ticket prices aren't too outrageous. Otherwise, not a lot on the calendar at the moment. Florida concert season doesn't pick up until summertime, which is ridiculous, because it's the worst possible season to be outdoors.
