With out a doubt. That is all it would take! Those songs do not take a ton of practice either. They should be able to play them in their sleep.

What they should do it set up a poll of some sort. Fans make the setlist, have all the songs and let people vote for them. No one knows how many votes each song has. Then Dave makes the setlist from those numbers.

Oh and only Ants can vote

Not on the level of where the F is Typical, BOWA, Dreaming Tree etc but it's a shame Big Eyed Fish only has 3 plays this tour. Really enjoyed that being in regular rotation in '12 and '13. BEF > Seek Up twice early in the tour was such a good combo.

I keep going back and forth on this, but at the end of the day I don't think he is intentionally mailing it in. His setlist choices are horribly predictable and stale to the point that I don't have much of an incentive to go to shows anymore and to that extent of the process it is "lazy", but the actual shows themselves are anything but lazy. They still play with the fire and energy I expect them to and i still enjoy the shows as much as I did anytime in the past.

I am just as frustrated as anyone with the setlist choices, but Dave chooses the songs he enjoys playing and doesn't concern himself with the last time he played it.

Yeah, I mean, he has a wife/kids, he's worth somewhere around a quarter of a billion dollars - half a billion dollars, he owns a freaking vineyard, etc. etc.

It's just not the same man that put out incredible lyrical and musical pieces like Rhyme & Reason, Warehouse, The Stone, and so forth...now it's nonsense like Blackjack and Cornbread.

As a songwriter, I have a hard time understanding why every show isn't like this. Dave isn't ignorant; while I understand the desire to play what you want to play, nothing can beat the thrill of playing your greats for a crowd that will truly appreciate it. Nothing.

People sit there and say we're a small percentage of the fan base (I've seen some people say that us diehards are 1% of the overall attendance at a show).

I think that's a strong, strong underestimation. You look at stuff like this:

And see that Ants alone is 7% of the venue. That's only Ants members that actually use Tour Central. I know a large chunk of the fanbase that doesn't use Ants, but rather DMBalmanac to track their stats, and some others that don't track their stats at all. I know lots of people not registered at all on Ants, TDC, or the Warehouse even that are "diehards".

There's a large contingent of diehard DMB fans that take up a large % of the band's following and live show attendance. Large groups of them are disappearing because of songs like Cornbread, albums like Stand Up and BW...

I have only been to one show where I thought the band mailed it in and that was a long time ago. They play with passion and energy every night, some of the songs people complain about are the songs that people at the live show cheer for and are the loudest for. This band is awesome

I'd love to hear Spaceman and/or Cornbread at a show. And I never got tired of hearing Jimi at a concert.

For the average fan that doesn't attend shows by the handful every year (Charlotte was only my 2nd show ever) - they did well. Seemed plenty passionate, into it, show was energetic - set list was great. My wife and I were very pleased overall.

I think it's OK to be critical (and you guys certainly have that right) but for the average fan who attends a show every now and again, it is a solid experience.
