People are such fair-weather creatures. Nice day out, everyone is taking to the streets and parks like mad! But when it's snowing out, where are they?

While I'm mostly joking, I am one of those people who needs shitty weather days just as much as I need beautiful weather days. I think I get Seasonal Affective Disorder in the Summer.

I get S.A.D. when winter is warm and lacks snow, just like what we're experiencing now . i'm so fucking tired of 50 and 60 degree temps in february in new england. wednesday is supposed to be upper 60's. fuck you mother nature. dirty whore.

I'm alright with this if the trend continues. It's when we get 75 degrees (which I know won't stay) in late February and then a 3 ft. nor'easter a week later. That's frustrating. Because now my gears have changed a bit towards spring. I actually hate spring in New England. It actually wasn't bad in Ohio. In fact it was quite nice. But New England spring consists of rainy, snowy mixes, 50 degrees and rain at the end of May and just mud and muck. It's awful.

Agreed. And for once I'm wishing against it. However, from various reads, sounds like this is possibly the best set up of the year... which isn't hard considering how poor this winter has gone (i.e. Zero blocking, no long lasting cold, etc)

Could this hit Providence? We already have the temps forecast low enough for Sunday. They even show a little snow in the AM, but it says less than an inch, of course I know that can change. I was starting to look ahead to spring, but I suppose one more decent storm won't hurt. The fact that the snow has already melted here, so it wouldn't be additional, and that it could probably be gone within a month given the warmer temps makes it a bit more bearable of a thought.

A hit to Providence is definitely possible, the only question is how far north the system tracks. Some models have it hitting the northeast including New England, others show it being pushed south. I wouldn't trust any models until Wednesday or Thursday.

Won't know what everyone is getting until midday Thursday. Depends now how far south the Low digs. We won't know until Thursday.

This is the DMV area best shot at any significant snow this year.

I like May, it's when everything starts to get nice out. March and April are mud and muck. Got to love how it was 75 two weekends ago, 4 with wind chill last weekend, 55 today, 20 over the weekend.

That map isn't showing snowfall amounts, it's just showing the shield of precipitation.
