What do you think of Everyday?

What does everybody think of the Everyday Album. I know its strange that I'm asking this question 6 years after the album came out, but as a fan for over 8 years, i think it is a good album. At first i didn't, but after time and hearing the songs live, I say it's a great album. I just been having debates with some new fans who think the album is shit.

was a disaster when it 1st came out, it was decent during the 2001 tour. then some of the songs took off to much better heights after that. (IE what you are, everyday, so right)

its 1st impression was bad cause the lillywhites were cut for it.

The CD itself sucks big time IMO but some of the songs are pretty good live.. Much better than Stand Up imo

I think WTWE,Fool to Think, So Right, IIHIA,What you Are, and Everyday are great Dmb songs. Clearly there are many more that I would rather and not put them in my top ten, but say they are bad in anyway.

Everyday was the begining of the end. I still don't mind mind hearing WYA, Space Between, So Right, or WTWE live though.

Re: What do you think of Everyday?

I think most people hated Everyday when it came out because it was so much different than what they thought DMB should play. The shock of the huge change turned a lot of people off to it. I see it as a different chapter of DMB. I found it exciting that the band was experimenting with a more electric sound. I also think that it brought in some new fans who were drawn in to the more pop-ish and radio-friendly album. They were then able to explore the songs and albums that we all consider great. Everyday acted like a bridge for some into the true musical greatness that is DMB. I also most of the Everyday songs are great live, especially What You Are.

Well... after a BTCS I was soooooo shocked when I heard Everyday...
Some time later - after hearing it live (WTWE, ED/#36, WYA and, recently, Fool To Think) - I could say that maybe it's not a very good album, but has some good songs on it.

And if it's better that Stand Up? I don't know... Stand Up was so..... strange and different...

Re: What do you think of Everyday?

Everyday was a disaster when it came out, that's for sure. However, it's really not that bad an album. The 2001 tour flat-out sucks, and a lot of the songs just don't work live, because the electric guitar just sounds flat out bad in concert on a lot of songs. However, the songwriting is quite good compared to Everyday, though it's NOTHING like tLWS. And yeah, the songs on the album are quite good. So Right, Fool, What You Are, If I Had It All, Dreams of Our Fathers, Mother Father, Space Between....all good songs on the album, and So Right, WYA, Fool, and IIHIA are pretty good songs on their own.

Re: What do you think of Everyday?

all i know is that after waiting so long for the next album after BTCS...I was so pumped for Everyday...I never listened to a stolen release or anything....and when I popped it into my stereo the day I got it and heard that AWFUL, ear-bleeding riff of I Did It, my heart sank. I haven't listened to the CD in almost 5 years now and I still really have no use for any of the songs live. I guess So Right is ok, but the rest I could my entire life without hearing again and be perfectly content.

i agree with this. i don't think its a good album, and never did. i do agree certain songs are good to very good live. wya and everyday more specifically as i like the power and outro/intros that we've seen with wya and the crowd participation that we've seen with everyday is terrific.

i look at it like this.

everyday, wya are great live songs

so right i never really got into but i think it is better then most of the album but i also never really seek it out live.

ftt, mother father, wtwe, the space between, idi, doof were all songs worthy of making but not really anything i look forward to at a show or seek out to listen to on my own.

iihia worthy of noting above the last two but nothing really redeemable for me.

stdh, angel are turds all around in my eyes.

I enjoy listening to the album. For a band of lesser talent, it would be great. But for DMB, it's a pretty weak effort - considering what they could have done with these songs. But, unlike SU, at least the songs are good and unlike Busted Stuff at least the music isn't boring.

    My #4 of DMB's albums.

Yeah, I'll put the list up again.

    1. BS
    2. UTTAD
    3. BTCS
    4. ED
    5. Crash
    6. SU

I have come to realize that SU is their worst CD.

    Hmm...
On the Crash album were: SMTS, Two Step, Too Much, #41, LiOG, Say Goodbye --> I mean, one of the greatest DMB songs (in studio and live). So your opinion is quite strange to me, but I respect it
