Filmmakers and critics keep saying amazing things about Interstellar. First PT Anderson and now Brad Bird. Really excited for this.

Rewatched Shame for the first time since seeing it three years ago. Liked it a lot better. Fassbender is incredible. Took my grade from a 7.5 to roughly 8.5. The scene when he and that girl on the train are eyeballing each other is pretty amazing.

Shame is infinitely better upon subsequent viewings.

I know you're partial to Gosling, but for my money I don't think there's anyone better than Fassbender right now.

    Does Phoenix count?

If I'm making a movie, the first person I want to star in it is Bradley Cooper. Very good range and I know my movie will make money.

don't get me wrong I love the guy too, and Serena has him AND Jennifer Lawrence going for it, and I can't see that making squat at the box office.

I was talking more like I was making the movie, and not some weird David Lynch knockoff making a movie. My ideas are mainstream as shit, and Bradley Cooper is hot. Win-Win.

Eh, it has a $25 - $30 mm budget, it actually probably will make money. Coop 5ever.

    1. No thank you ever. Dude seems like a total fucking weirdo, too.
    2. Not as my lead, def as a villain.
    3. Never ever never. Great actor, doesn't have the right style for anything I'd ever want to do.
    4. Cool, but possibly too expensive for a proper return.
    5. Fucking hot.
    6. Too fucking weird, too big of a liability.
    7. Only if I had a part written as George Clooney, in which case I'd just cast Affleck.
    8. Same thing as Fassbender.
    9. Jon Hamm is Don Draper forever.
    10. No thank you. British people are weird.

I would move Cumberbatch up my list and probably put Pitt and McConaughey in there somewhere. I'm not as high on Rockwell as others seem to be. Bradley Cooper is excellent too. Even though Day-Lewis is amazing, he doesn't act enough for me to put him in a list that would include regularly working actors.

I like both of your lists, especially that you included Alexander Payne. I think he's excellent. I would include both Terrence Malick and Chris Nolan on my list, but I understand why people would leave them out.
