I am not trying to make light of your situation, because it obviously sounds like you understand you made a mistake, and are trying to deal with it the best you can. I just wanted to highlight it because there are a lot of people who've posted, and a lot of people who believe that LEOs "just enforce the laws", when your situation makes it clear, LEOs can choose to enforce laws

Exactly. Police officers are the gatekeepers of the CJ system, quite literally. They choose who to let in and who gets to walk free. Discretion is a HUGE part of our justice system.

Its called discretion.
Could have the cop used discretion and made the OP pour out his beer and send him on his way? Sure.
Does an officer write a ticket every single time they pull someone over for speeding? No.
Did the officer mess up the paperwork on purpose in regards to the DUI sitaution? Doubtful. Is it possible? Yeah, but its the long way around things, and its highly unlikely.
Jordanball-getting arrested and charged is totally different than being convicted of DUI. That that difference seriously. What was your BAC?

Yes, I know. That's why I said what I did in my previous post. I'm saying that I'm going to (most likely) be convicted of negligent driving first degree, as opposed to being convicted of the DUI. But what I was trying to tell the other poster was that I'm still "arrested and charged" for DUI regardless of what happens from here on out. Trust me, as a CJ major, my life is full of irony right now
I'm just disappointed in myself that this is what had to happen for me to wake up and stop letting my life get off track.
My BAC was .099. I didn't get pulled over because of how I was driving, it was because my headlights were off. I literally went about 10 feet before they pulled me over.
