Help this girl out....

I've been playing the guitar since 3rd grade. I've let it go for a couple years now and want to pick it back up again. Where can I get some basic DMB songs (just chords)?? I can start with that and then progress.

Thanks guys!

I would use dmbtabs.com definitely, as suggested above. Here are some songs to start with to get back into it:

The Song That Jane Likes (all major/minor chords, pretty easy switches)
    http://www.dmbtabs.com/song.php?sid=6

Don't Drink the Water (basically just a D5 chord for a lot of it, easy rhythm)
    http://www.dmbtabs.com/song.php?sid=38

The Space Between (not too hard) http://www.dmbtabs.com/song.php?sid=54&tid=78

Gravedigger (all chords, easy rhythm, fun song)
    http://www.dmbtabs.com/song.php?sid=82

    #40 (Just uses a C-chord picked out, and then a D/F#, G, D, etc for the chorus) http://www.dmbtabs.com/song.php?sid=50

Blue Water (Just an Em chord, and C)
    http://www.dmbtabs.com/song.php?sid=79

I took guitar lessons for a year and my teacher wrote me out a basic version of Ants Marching for me. I felt special.... but I let an old manager borrow my music then I never saw her again

Ouch. My fingers hurt! It's going to take awhile to calluses on my fingers. My middle fingertip is permanently indented from playing previously. I just now got my guitar tuned so I'm ready to start playing now!

buy a chord book, and maybe take a couple of lessons just to refresh yourself, then go to dmbtabs, buy song books, etc....

Thanks for the tips. I'm struggling learning to read the tabs, but I'm sure I'll figure it out.

If you have any problems reading the tab or anything, just post what they are. I'd be glad to help.

The numbers under the tabs tell you which fingers to use for a certain note: 1 = index, 2 = middle, etc.

You need to learn barre chords though, trust me. It'll facilitate the learning process. When I first started playing I didn't think I could do them either. Hold your hand like you're eatching a cheeseburger, then place it around the fret board. That'll help with chords.

Well, I've been trying to learn Crash Into Me, but I can't seem to play any B chords or any chords with a stretch for that matter... grr!! So...I played the bass by ear and first two strings. That's as good as that gets right now!

Just keep practicing them. You'll get them. Those chords where you have to really stretch aren't the easiest at first, but with some practice they become second nature.
