I recently heard a story from a former cop that disgusted me. The former officer said he worked in management and training for a local PD in Florida. One night a younger officer stopped an 80yo on suspicion of driving under the influence. The suspect failed a couple field tests so the officer brought him to the police station and administered a blood alcohol content test, which the 80yo passed at 0.00 BAC. The officer withdrew the charges and let the elderly man go. The officer I talked to found the 80yo the following morning in a ditch beside a parking lot outside the station stroked out. Turns out the younger officer couldn't tell the difference between a suspect being drunk and having a stroke

I was issued an open container ticket around this time last year at school. I knew it was illegal but I couldn't set my fantastic Keystone Light down unfinished. Instead of paying the ticket right away, I waited the week before it was due to pay up (I was pretty busy with school but I could have made an attempt sooner). A $200 something ticket then turned into a near $400 ticket because I didn't read the fine print on the back stating I had 15 days to pay it off. I'm smart

Several medical issues can be easily confused with intoxication. Stroke is one, several diabetic issues, TIAs, lots of stuff. Yes, it sucks that that happened, but a police officer is not an EMT.

yup. and i have to miss an important class to make the court date. all because i was minding my own business with a bunch of friends as i walked peacefully over to a place where i could legally drink and dance.

i have never been given a ticket even though i have been pulled over 4 times. 3 times in a car and once on a sea doo.


I have had close contact with them outside of that because i worked at a roller rink where we had off duty officers come and do a detail for the night. Most of them that i have dealt with are racist, cheat on their wives, or break the law on a regular basis. (drunk driving & smoking weed)
