Re: SPAC 2016 - BALLSFEST - July 16th
BALLSFEST SUPPORTERS,
A very deep and heartfelt thank you to all of those who helped make BALLSFEST 2016 our best one yet. We had a huge turnout, fabulous weather, and phenomenal generosity by all. We recognized and provided gifts to the beneficiaries from years passed, and in celebration of our 10th anniversary in 2016, we selected 3 new beneficiaries.
Because of your philanthropic efforts, we are offering our 2016 beneficiaries incredible gifts. We are making a large donation to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter in the name and memory of our beneficiary, Reese Meadow Johnson. We have also been able to secure a room at the shelter that will be named in Reese's memory, and look forward to a formal ceremony at the shelter in late August. In addition, we have provided Reese's parents on their upcoming cruise a swim with the dolphins excursion, along with a spa package. Jared Stearns, our 18 year old beneficiary will be on his way to Yellowstone National Park for a customized 5 day adventure with his family and girlfriend. And finally, our 4 year old beneficiary, Lucas Santoro, will be headed on a Disney cruise with his family. Amazing!
Furthermore, because of your efforts, we broke our 50/50 record, raising just under $4,000. A special thank you to our 50/50 Ladies, Ana DeLuca and Gabriella Regalado for their coordination and energy in fundraising. And an even bigger thank you to BALLSFEST 2016 attendee, Greg Emmanuelidis, as he donated back his winning 50/50 proceeds!
BALLSFEST 2016 received considerable media coverage, and we thank Jorja Roman from Time Warner Cable, and Travis Clark from the Saratogian for their interest and time. Local musician James Hood entertained us with great music, the Dairy Haus (Saratoga's best ice cream) provided delicious ice cream for all, and once again the Spring Street Deli filled everyone's bellies with goodness.
Within the next week, thanks to our official photographer Eric Kessler, we will be posting a large photo album from our special day. I have no doubt Eric captured the day once again in pictures for us all to enjoy.
And finally, most of you know that Dave Matthews Band will not be touring in 2017. As a result, I have been asked countless times if we will have BALLSFEST 2017. And the answer is a resounding,"YES!" With all due respect, we do not need the Dave Matthews Band to bring us together for what has become a truly amazing day, where we recognize and greatly lift the spirits of children with cancer, and celebrate our friendships in a beautiful setting. We will keep you posted on the ideas we already have in mind, as we will create an even more compelling reason for you to join us in 2017.
Thank you again, and have a wonderful rest of the Summer.
Love,
Frank, Celeste, Shannon and the BALLSFEST TEAM
