Hot off the press. I love how New Glarus doesn't worry about following the hype and brews beers they want to brew.

A local brewery is tapping one of these today. Your post is the first time I've ever heard of the concept, but I'm looking forward to trying it this weekend.

Oh sweet. Looking forward to hearing what you think. Passion fruit can get a little overwhelming so hopefully the brewers nailed the recipe.

Long weekend = more time to drink beer. Already enjoyed some Other Half and Trillium. What is everyone drinking?

    It was delicious last night

I pretty much have quit using it too. Occasionally I tick stuff off, but honestly I just stopped caring. It is occasionally nice to check and see if youve had a beer and liked it or not though.

But honestly most of my beer stuff is just instagram now. Would rather take the time to take a cool photo than checkins. Need to get a wifi sd card though to expedite the process.

I grabbed a super fresh 4-pack of this a few weeks ago and really liked it. As I said, I've been pleasantly surprised by their output the past few months. Huntress is a favorite of mine as well.

Couple too many All-Day IPAs yesterday at the BBQ. Making work this morning a little rough

It was disappointing. The beer had a nice nose and started off with a tropical punch, but then quickly faded to finish with a very flat taste of nothingness.

Bummer! I don't see many IPAs these days with passion fruit so maybe it is a bitch to work with. I only had the one from OH last summer and it was good, so not like I have a large pool of passion fruit IPAs to draw from and compare.

A buddy of mine gave me a growler of Levante The Chief this morning. He was down in West Chester, PA over the weekend and picked it up. Anyone familiar with the brewery or the beer? Also crowler question, will it last until this weekend, unopened?

I could be wrong, but my understanding of crowlers is that they're sealed the same as a normal can would be, thus preserving the beer for longer. I've only ever had one experience with a crowler before so I'm speaking from a place of mostly ignorance, but I always thought crowlers had a longer shelf life than growlers.

yes, crowlers are superior to growlers in just about every category...other than you can't close them once they are open. I usually try to drink my crowlers within a week or two of getting them, but there is no reason the quality would fade....

I don't think it was the use of passion fruit, as there were floral elements to the initial flavor as well. Something made any semblance of flavor in the bar fall completely off. One other thing to note is that I drank it from a growler about 24 hours after it was filled. It could have been a bad fill, as I haven't gone back to look at comments on Untappd or elsewhere.

Thanks for the info gents. I won't crack it until this weekend, so just wanted to make sure it would be good until then. It will be consumed in one sitting too.

Anyone know how early lines start forming for Tired Hands can releases? Have a buddy in the area who might try and make the release tomorrow.

All I know is you can't line up before noon. Parking seems to be the real bitch at TH. Like most other releases, the rarerzzz the beerzzz, the quicker the line fills up. Looks like tomorrow is two cans with a regular release, so may keep the line down. Plus, TH keeps allotments pretty low, like 3 4-packs per beer low. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

    all depends on the release.

tired hands allows people to put up folding chairs at noon. people starting lining up ~ 3PM. Last week for the Vanilla Milkshake I got there at 4:15 and had no issue. Tomorrow release shouldn't be an issue.

parking is shitty. I live 3 miles away and I've gotten a ticket.

general store opens up soon, so hopefully it will change how releases are done.

Drinking a can of Treehouse's Bright with Citra. Fantastic beer and may be on par with one of my favorites, Lone Pint Yellow Rose.
