Not sure if you have a Nikon or not...if you are using shutter priority you click through the times past 30 seconds...the last setting is "blub"...you push the release down and it opens window....then stays open until you release...you can do veeeeerrry long exposures..

here are a few from tonight's sunset.

on the topic of nikons...i use a nikon N75...unfortunately none of the pics i have posted in here have been taken with it...they're all either done with my cell phone or my canon digital camera...the nikon is an SLR not digital, and it is having a focusing issue right now, think it broke on a plane so i need to have it fixed this month sometime...

    and onto the sunset...

You know what I've heard takes awesome shots with that technique, taking pictures of the stars. If your out in the country tilt your camera to the sky and keep the shutter opens for as long as your battery life is, like 2-6 hours! You can captures the stars moving in the sky.

    Kind of like this...http://photo.net/bboard-uploads/00K2mG-35093284.jpg

I hope you dont mind, but I ran it through photoshop and tried to fix that a bit. I am still learning PS, so I'm sure it could be better. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f2...e/DSC02572.jpg

However its not that bad. His head and hands are really the only thing blurred, but that just shows they were moving.

So I have a Nikon D100 and I'm ready to upgrade to a newer body. Its either between the D40X or the D80. I'm not expecting Nikon to announce anything new a the CES so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

I'm sure you could, but you just might not be able to have full control of everything. Also use photoshop to touch up your photos. That can make up for a lesser quality camera sometimes.

First off I love dpreview.com. I wish I could afford the D300. With getting married this summer and buying a house there is no way I can afford it.

See if you can get a D50 - - they are no longer in production, but a great camera at reasonable price (for what you can do with it) - - I love mine!
