[Munich show 10/24] Need help from the locals

I'm going from Zagreb to Munich for the show. Found a dorm on Senefelderstraße (22€ per night? Does anyone know a cheaper place?), and according to GoogleMaps it's almost 14 km away from the venue.

Does the U-Bahn go regularly after midnight on a Saturday (I'm guessing that the show won't be over before that) and are all the train routes active or just some of them?

Actually, it'd be great if someone would be willing to carpool to the city center when the show ends?

Hey there!
No worries...the venue is located North of Munich.
The Metro line U6 runs there...Exit "Freimann" and walk to the venue...8 minutes. I assume Trains will run to the City after..should not be an issue, ist a Saturday and there are always concerts out there.

one more thing to consider (timewise) if traveling from Zagreb to Munich by car:
The german/austrian border behind Salzburg going west has border controls at the moment, leading to backups up to 2 hours at times.
Not sure about the Trains, but better to ask ahead of time.

Thanks for the hotel info, but I'm going with a couple of friends who just want to see the city, not because of the concert, and they want to stay closer to the center.
Are you going to the show? Do you know anything about the venue? Are there any pubs/bars around or something?

So Problem, glad I could help
For sure I'll be at the show with a bunch of people. It's definitely better to stay in the city center. The commute with the metro to the venue is only like 15-20 minutes and the train runs every 10 or 15 minutes or so. The Zenith (Name of the venue) has had a bad reputation but improved a lot in recent years. Basically its an old warehouse ( ;-) ) which use to have shitty acoustics. After people continuously complained they made an effort to improve that...which they actually did. The last DMB show there in 2010 had good sound, so no more problems I guess...should be a great show. The area is more or less industry so a street beer is the way to go...bring some, they'll be cheaper than at the venue...and better. Inside they sell crappy beer and overpriced pop.
