This also displaces PSO, the Weenie Roast and all the other summer festivals that use the venue. Such a bummer to see Irvine close down.

Yeah, Irvine gonna Irvine. Seriously, the city and the Irvine Co. have systematically eliminated anything that might even indirectly lead to someone having a good time. Lion Safari, Wild Rivers, now Irvine Meadows. The so-called "Great Park" (seriously can we get another name for that? Like, literally anything else?) has been around for over a decade with a stupid hot air balloon to show for it. Wild Rivers was supposed to reopen there. Never happened. New amphitheater supposed to be built there. I'm sure it won't. The only thing that parcel exists for is to funnel money into the pockets of Irvine officials who will eventually turn the whole parcel over to developers to turn into cookie cutter houses. Sad.
I wish another town had the foresight to build another amphitheater. Maybe in east Orange out by Irvine Lake or something. Or maybe even build an amphitheater in Long Beach at El Dorado Park.
