What We Do in the Shadows - 8/10 (Amazon Prime)

This came out in 2015. It's a fake docu-comedy about vampires living in modern times dealing with the problems of modern life. I thought it was pretty great. The dry humor was on point and there were a lot of creative jokes that landed well if you like dry humor. There isn't much of a story arch, but it was still very enjoyable. They progressed enough to keep things from feeling stale. It has one of the guys from Flight of the Concords in it if you're familiar with their style of humor. If you're looking for a light hearted comedy on the absurd side, then this fits the bill very well.

I enjoyed it but I agree about the pace being weird. The ending was pretty anti-climactic as well but overall the performances were good and it was interesting.

I really enjoyed the new Trolls, Smurfs and Moana. So far Moana being my favorite and my daughters favorite.

We haven't spun a soundtrack this much since Frozen.

Regarding 10 Cloverfield Lane's ending:

I liked that there really was an attack, and that it really was aliens. Kinda vindicated John Goodman in a way. However, he was still a kidnapper and murderer, sooooooo..........

Wasn't crazy about MEW actually surviving her close encounter of the third kind, nor was I crazy about the miraculous Molotov cocktail throw, nor was I crazy about the cheesy turn towards Austin to go fight them. But she's hot as shit, so I let it go.

Dude getting shot in the face was the best twist by a mile. Really caught me off guard.

Yep, I thought they should have either cut that last 10 minutes or found something better to do with it.

I would have honestly been ok with the credits rolling when she took her gas mask off and breathed without dying. It may have left the unanswered question of how that woman died outside the house, but it would have worked for me at least.

Watched Split last night, wow...Shyamalan actually making a good movie again?

I had absolutely no idea about the ending, but recognized the music long before the percussion kicks in...such a great theme by JNH. After the credits started rolling I found out about the upcoming "Glass" slated for release on January 18th, 2019; absolutely psyched for this one and thrilled to read who is already cast in it. Nice.
