Yeah thats fucking stupidity. It says on the ticket Dave and Tim. I don't think it can get much clearer.

As glad as I am that the band is taking a much needed year off, I can't wait to see what they will do when they come back. I'm really hoping that the D+T shows this summer continue in quality and that the set list creativity inspires Dave for the full band shows. Also very interested to see if there are any major changes to the touring schedule and what the deal is with the new album.

I really hope Boyd has a much bigger presence now that he has recovered from surgery and the interplay between the sax and violin become a thing again.

Im not sure on the exact model but its a Gibson that Dave used for Raised B tuning songs like You Never Know, Beach Ball, The Space Between, LITHOG, Oh, etc. He switched over to the Rockbridge model in 2013.

I'm not holding my breath...I expect NOTHING to change. "Set list creativity" and "Dave" should never be used in the same sentence.

He recovered from surgery some time ago (has played a lot since then). How would interplay between Boyd and Coffin even be meaningful? Jeff's style doesn't support interplay with violin, just back and forth blasting between him and Rashawn. Old boring stuff. Real interplay happened between Boyd and Roi...and it was amazing. You're in denial if you think some sort of 'magic' is going to happen again. It just isn't going to happen.

Ranking the BTCS songs is a little weird. They're all amazing in their unique way. They're all probably in every serious fan's top 20 songs. Not criticizing your list, but who cares whether you have Rapunzel or Stone at the top of your list (rhetorical point)?

    ?
I was hoping that maybe with the year off maybe coffin and boyd might try to be more cohesive and develop a chemistry to interplay off one another. I'm not in denial, I'm sure it isn't happening.

definitely an unpopular opinion here but i think DMB would do a kickass cover of Savior by Rise Against. if they played it a bit slower and added a little dmb magic to the breakdown section itd be one of my favorite covers theyve ever done

Has anyone ever noticed the multiple similarities between You Never Know and Phish's Limb by Limb?

--That bouncing guitar riff, 6/8 time sig

--Opening lines both make reference to STONE...

"The shoulder that I leaned on was carved out of stone" --LxL
    "Sitting, still as stone"--YNK

--Closing lines both reference a LIMB...

"Land to reform, limb by limb" --LxL
"A leaf fell from a limb" --YNK

-And finally, both songs were put together by previous pieces the bands had lying around..
Limb by Limb was a merging of Taken Far Away & Chinese Wall
You Never Know, from Counting The Stars & The Thing

    ..It's just interesting

    And for comparison

It's amazing to me that as of November 2003 there were only 5 live records from the band. 90 since.

5 live albums is still a ton for a ~10 year career. (In that age of music)

Listening to LT23 today at work, I forgot how good that version of Little Thing is, easily one of the best IMO. Ready for LT41 to come in the mail so I can have that on repeat!

If dmb didn't have Roi and Boyd at the onset, you wouldn't be able to force them into the same category today.

In retrospect looking back to last year at this time,it's a shame they didn't put out an ep to coincide with the 25th year concert. They could have put vitr, Bob law, black and blue bird, maybe on other we haven't heard, and used Bismark and maybe break free as singles. I only say break free because 3.0 plays it well especially what Boyd was doing last year. Oh well
