IMO it felt like they were trying to answer lingering questions and set up vol 3 rather than just make another episode it that makes sense. It felt like the first 1.5 hr had a Rogue One lack of cohesion to it.
I think my biggest problem with the movie was everything people loved about the first one they took to excess in this one. It's like they focused way too much on Drax, tried too hard to make music playing obvious and tried too hard to make it funny.
Also, Marvel, seriously, it's time to tone down the "comedy." So much cringe. That said, there was one line by Yondu about a particular Ms. Poppins that had me Lol-ing.

I knew it! I knew they'd go in that direction. I hate when movies do that. One or two characters get a rise out of people in the first movie and so the writers and director decide to up their involvement in the sequel and it falls flat. Why? Because some characters are just better off as smaller roles. that's their character.
Wait, are you saying that Marvel is taking the comedic aspect of their movies too far? I never expected that
as stated many times before, I like the Marvel movies, but the comedy is just ruining it for me. Every movie they make has more and more comedy. Keep things in the same vein as Winter Soldier and I'm totally in.
