Everywhere around the venue - especially getting of Exit 33 on I-91. The fact that this year's show is on a Saturday will improve the scenario (no rush hour traffic) but it still won't be easy in and out - it never is. Best thing you can do is get there early (3:00 PM or so) and hang at one of the fast food restaurants or the like waiting for the lots to open.

Or go private or premier parking, they open earlier.

First of all, summer = biggest traffic suckfest on 95 in CT. Period. Especially if it's sunny. Beach traffic, always.

Take the Merritt up. Will there still be traffic, yes. Will it be AS bad.. probably not but... that would be my suggestion.

If arriving early like 1 or 2, 91 shouldn't be bad. Anything after that, absolutely avoid. Exit 33 Jennings road will be a nightmare

I don't remember what time the lots open...I want to say 3 or 4? But my advice is that if you plan on getting there earlier than that, just go to one of the many fast food restaurants in walking distance of the venue, park, grab something small and drink in their lots until its time to go in. I typically get up to Hartford from Long Island by 1 and always find myself sitting in the Burger King lot until the real lot opens.

I hear the Midas lot opens earlier and is a shit show so we have avoided it in the past. Might try it this year.

If one were to pay for private parking then the Super 8 is a great choice as mentioned above. Not the closest walk to the venue but always a good mature and respectful crowd. A good place to relax and grill if you so choose. Avoid the Mercedes dealership as it's bursting at the seams with high school and college kids just looking to get hammered. Cops all over it and rightfully so. Many private lots will open earlier in the afternoon - I've parked at lots as early as the 2:00 hour before. General venue lot usually opens 4:00-4:30.

No, they sell separate parking for non hotel-guests as well. You park, go in to the lobby and the staff at the front desk/check-in will issue you the pass to place on your dashboard. Usually in the $30 range from what I can recall. Haven't parked there in a few years because I've been going premier.

there is a church near the Hilton that is closed. I talked to someone last year that parked there, they said they do for every Hartford show and its never been a problem.
