Re: *The Official Tennis Thread*

That 4th game in the 5th set just after Roger stumbled, some amazing rallies.

Great match, but everyone will look at the 12th game, up 40-0 in the 4th set and Fed couldn't hold serve. Also don't want to put more stock then it is worth, but seems like Milos working with Johnny Mac has paid off pretty quick here on the grass. His serve is crazy big, he has found comfort at the net, but Murray has a great counter punch (assuming he wins his match vs. Berdych.) Milos v Murray would be a great final.

Really was hoping Fed would pull it out. I knew he was in trouble when it went to the fifth. Heck of a match overall. 3 hours and 25 minutes

Raonic needs to beat Murray. Don't think he will though.

Women's final was incredible. Amazing shots on both sides but Serena's serve was just strong. Congrats to her and her 22nd title. Equals Stefi Graf's open Era record.

I love John McEnroe but I kinda wish he wasn't calling this match considering he worked with Raonic through the whole thing. Waaaaay too many mentions of it.

^that's why I'm watching the BBC feed on ESPN3. Less chatter in between points. They shut up and let the sounds of the crowd and the tension of the moment fill the gaps between points. McEnroe is one of the most knowledgeable, though.

Raonic isn't playing all that bad. He just can't break serve to save his life. That was his opening right there. The moment might just be too big for him.

Murray just way too good today. Pretty insane that Raonic had an absurd 154 aces in the tournament coming into today. Murray wasn't having any of it though. Congrats to him.

It was a final of few chances and who would capitalize on those chances would walk away with the hardware. Neither player played bad, Raonic missed on the chances he has, his big server just wan't there either. Murray didn't miss on his chances and he also dominated the two tiebreaks. That was the difference.

Looking forward to the US Open, anyone think Murray can make a 4th straight GS final? Maybe even win the US Open again? He seems to play at a different level with Lendl in his corner.

Yeah, heard about that a week or so ago. In the long term, probably a good thing for her. The layoff should help her heal up and she has been battling injury after injury the last few seasons.

Yeah she's really had bad luck the last few years. Looked like she was going to win a stack of majors.

Really bummed about this too. We have tickets to the first Friday at the US Open and was really hoping he would be on court that night. Not many chances left to see him play so want to take advantage every chance I can.

Sorry to hear that man. Hopefully he's back there next year. With Fed hurt and Nadal pretty much done, it's really sad for mens tennis. I am massive fans of both those guys.

We try and hit the Open every year, so just hope that in 2017 Fed is in good health and makes a return.

IMO, at this point you have Novak, Murray then a whole crop of new players rising up. Raonic, Thiem, Zverev, Paire to name a few are really starting to show their stuff and could be part of the next crop of mens players vying for majors.

Del Potro was really dialed in on the forehand. Just cracking the ball. 41 winners. Unreal against Djokovic.

U.S open has begun. Let's get some discussion. Lot of people picking Murray. He won the Olympics and Wimbledon. He did not run into Novac though in either one.....

Damn. Tough for him, especially because of his age. Recently, his bad matches seem to be fatigue driven. Then again, it's a pretty talented field out there.

    So Novac or Murray? Hmm.

Howdy tennis fans. Going with Novak all the way, although Murray has had a much better summer. I think Novak put everything into the French this year and he is still suffering from that amount of work. The walk over today for Novak could help as that is one less match to have to play. Also, going on Friday night, so hoping Novak is playing the night session.

Thanks. We don't have the best seats in Ashe, upper deck. So any pics will be from far away. There will be some day matches still going on, so will try and hit up a few outer courts to see who is playing.

Wow, that Keys match was fantastic! Good to see Sock move on too. Looking forward to tonight. Was hoping for Novak, but ended up with Rafa before the women's match. Really excited for that one. The crowd should be firmly in Bellis's corner versus Kerber. Hope CiCi can hold on and not fold under the lights of the NYC at night.
