Re: SPAC Setlists Contest (with prizes!)
The actual mini-setlist from the nine possible songs:
Stone
Say Goodbye
Pig
Fool
Halloween
Four Ants picked all five songs played, but bigeyedpigs did it in the least number of songs picked - 6 (in other words, the fewest misses of those with all five). So, he is the winner.
I realize I probably did not make it as clear as I could have in terms of some of the groundrules and tiebreakers. Saturday morning I was thinking that I just should have used the formal Ants setlist games rules (not sure exactly how that works, but it counts the number of songs correctly picked, songs spotted exactly, and some kind of penalty for overpicking (like selecting all nine songs in this mini-contest and only five were played). If someone has the time and interest, that would be fun to see if that process would yield the same answer.
I'll sit tight for about a week or so to see if anyone has a challenge to the judge's decision.
We had 17 entries. Kind of surprised we did not have more, but whatever. Seemed about almost everyone picked Stone, Pig, Fool, and Say Goodbye. A couple people nabbed Typical as a debut. Almost everyone (or maybe every one) had multiple encores at least one night. I think there were 28 songs each night. I watched a good portion of N1 via Periscope, but did not pick up on any weed references (save for Jimi lyrics). Not sure about N2, but I did see a few people comment that there was not much Dave-speak in general N2. The real sets were good( N1) and very good (N2). From a setlist perspective, as usual, I had my hopes probably too high. Was it N1 where Dave talked a bit about a couple of people in front getting engaged, or maybe just married? I was about 99% certain that he was then going to bust out IBYU (would have been a perfect placement and sent the couple to the moon), but Dave, the consummate showman, did not carry through.
This was fun for me. Maybe I'll do it again for the three-night Gorge run in 2018.
