Re: ***Official Green Bay Packers Thread***

Charles Woodson threw the first pitch at today's Brewers game vs San Francisco. He also talked to the dudes in the booth, about DD on DWTS, and more:

    Quote:
Oates: Packers' Woodson pitches some opinions at Brewers game
    36 minutes ago • TOM OATES | Wisconsin State Journal | 608-252-6172 | toates@madison.com

Green Bay Packers cornerback Charles Woodson had some fun Wednesday while throwing out the first pitch at the Milwaukee Brewers' game against the San Francisco Giants.

Working from the stretch, Woodson looked an imaginary runner back to second before hitting the outside corner of the plate with a curveball. At least that's what Woodson called it. Actually, the pitch looked like a not-so-fast fastball that was low and away.

Anyway, Woodson showed up in the press box during the game and chatted with with reporters about several topics of interest to Packers fans.

On wide receiver Donald Driver winning the top prize on Dancing With the Stars Tuesday night:

"He's one of the hardest working guys I've ever been around. Knowing that he was going out there to do Dancing With the Stars, they were going to damn near kill him for him not to win. It was great to see him come out on top."

On whether he is amenable to moving from cornerback to safety now that Nick Collins has been released:

"I hear all the reports about moving to safety, but I don't think there's any more I could do on the football field than I already do. I think the only thing that would ever change is just the title, from being a corner to a safety. But I'm a football player. I can do anything on that football field and they can put me anywhere and they know that. All the talk about, 'Is he going to play safety?' I kind of already play safety. So it wouldn't be that big of a jump if that was the thing."

On why he didn't participate in the on-field portion of the Packers' OTA session Tuesday:

"I just came around, took physicals, got into the meeting room and picked up one of these brand new I-Pads that they passed our with all of our playbook on it. I just came in to just be around for a minute, put my eyes on some guys and see what was going on. That was it. I wasn't practicing this week. I had no intentions of it. But, of course, we've got a mandatory (minicamp) coming up in a few weeks and I'll get out there and run around with the guys."

On whether getting back with his teammates helps to get the bad taste of the playoff loss to the New York Giants out of his mouth:

"It's hard to get the bad taste out of your mouth because when you get close, you know you don't get the opportunity that many times so you want to take advantage of it. But getting back into the swing of things, getting back around the guys and starting fresh and knowing that this is a new year and a new opportunity, I think that's the part that probably gets you through."

On the draft that yielded defensive players with the Packers' first six selections:

"I thought it was great. If you just look back at our season last year, 15-1 is great by a lot of standards. But from a defensive standpoint, we didn't hold our end of the bargain and when our team needed us most, in that first playoff game, we really let the team down. I think our organization's seen that we have some holes in our defense and some players we needed to pick up to try to fill some of those roles. I thought they did a great job of going specifically at what we needed in the draft, picking up some young studs. So I'm excited to see what these guys can do. I think they'll do well."

Packers and Donald Driver agree to a re-structured deal and he will now be a "Packer for life":

    well,:

    http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/green-bay...donald-driver/

This says it went from a 4.3 to a 2.5 salary, but not if it was extended or it was switched to a bonus.

I'm fairly certain there is a Packer's bar everywhere.
    That and a Steeler's bar.

There is an "Official Packer Bar" in ever state, and on every continent omit Antarctica.

The only NFL Team that can say that.

    BOOM.

Ron Wolf is entitled to his opinion, but I do not agree. Old #4 is not the greatest Packer of them all. I would vote for Bart Starr with Don Hutson a close #2.

Don Hutson is the greatest wide receiver of all time (ducks and preps for Jerry Rice tirades), and Bart Starr is better purely for being a ridiculously good human being. Heck, you could argue Reggie and Nitschke ahead of him too.

    What an odd reaction.

I've seen him drunk off his ass numerous times, I beat him and desmond bishop in pool one time and they bought patron shots for me, my partner and themselves, took them right there.

Kittners and Cock n Bull, those places are crawling with Packer players on the weekends and especially after 12:00 Sunday games, pretty cool actually. People know they are their and it is such a regular occurrence that it isn't a big frantic deal, they just chill, drink like any other person.

Jordy Nelson... super good at darts, I would not challenge him.

I don't drink, but that would be cool to hang out with them for a bit. Glad an Ant gets to do this.
