You want to REALLY be popular with the fans in the off-season? Do something like that.
Don't steal Lillywhite's thunder. Let him "debut" it. Then release it for us all to download.
That would rule.
That will never happen.

I know it will never happen, but if they DID, there is literally
ZERO downside. They were never going to release JUST Machead. It was going to be on a compilation/best of the rest/"Rest of What's Around" type compilation someday or a deluxe version of BTCS.
Let's do the math:
Only hardcore fans care about Machead.
Hardcore fans will STILL buy whatever physical release Machead is placed on because it will undoubtedly contain other unreleased material
So, they would NOT lose money if he played it. And they would NOT lose money if they just threw it online somewhere for download for a day or two.
AND, they would gain a TON of good will with hardcore fans.
TONS. It would be one of the coolest, most fan-friendly things they have ever done.
AND, some fans are already a bit irked at how they handled (didn't handle) the Europe release.
Why not?
Again, they won't do it, but they would literally have NOTHING to lose in doing so.
